Whos useing what to join up verge trims. Butt joints and angles.?
We use cleats on butts and cut angles so they lap and returns using offcuts to create the same profile if you know what I mean

Can anyone advise me on how they securely fit verge trims where they go up to the underside of slates?
Doing one at the moment what has had a re-roof. The roofers have used 2x1 slate lath so there is a good 35mm gap between the brick and slates. Plus the cut brick what I need to drill into become loose when drilling the fixing holes. I am having to drill into the slate lath ends when I can find them and using loads of CT1 silicone adhesive at £12 a tube.
Verge trims take a bashing with the weather so I think there is some scope somewhere for a better way of fixing these solid?
Any suggestions?
Put them up at tight as you can on the dry verge use a few 6 mm spit hits and the board up to them and job done.
CT1 **** that
But we have spit hits. The problem is drilling as low down the wing as you can still loosens the top bricks. Screwing into the slate laths work but finding them is a pain.
I was thinking more of some kind of bracket what you fix further down into solid brick then attatch the trim to the bracket. If these verge come loose can can be expensive to go back and put right if you can. I want to get it right first. time.
