very fine dash finish

anyone ever seen this applied. It looks like a 1mm fine aggregate been pebble dashed to wall. My guess to apply it is lay a tight coat of maite or similar over the base coat and spray the aggregate at the wall using a hopper gun.
Anyone seen it done

Probably something like the baumit SEP range of products can be purchased in various colours. The 2mm will do 10 sq/m per bag spray or hand apply.
