Views on different sized trowels

What’s peoples views on size of trowels for their main trowel? I always got on best with marshalltown 16inch and a friend uses a marshalltown 20 inch, I know most use a 14 and to be honest I can’t see anything other than personal preference to be reason

I use a 14" Marshalltown for laying on and trowelling and a co.me flex at the end.I was taught with a 13" Marshalltown when I started out but 14"all the way for me.

Them oversize trowels will take the toll on the elbow .. @ looking after yourself /..... [@Speeed skim set of sorts ....

13inch carbon for me, bigger trowels are asking for future arthritis and f**k*d joints, even 14 is too big for me lol

It’s odd like I say, total personal preference, I can’t get on with anything other than my 16. Stupid as bigger trowel doesn’t make much difference to work amount , it’s not like I’ve got a giant handboard/hawk to go with it

His is moisture resistant plasterboard in bathrooms

Started with a 13” then played around with a few sizes then settled for 14” for a good few years.
Now full circle and back on a 13” won’t change again now.

13 for me not that anybody gives a flyer.

Nice and comfortable as I’m not plastering every day. Use a speedskim so irrelevant in some ways. Still use my 11” regularly too.

Couldn’t think of anything worse than running round like a lunatic doing a big hit.. been there done that… would rather do 3 small sets a day than 2 big ones

I used to do 50m2 hits but just found after you’ve done one trying to pick yourself up for another one was too depressing would rather just chuck on smaller amounts get stuff ready in between
