Depending on substrate and finish needed, and also the quality of sand, My go to is freeflo in finish coats, cementone integral waterproofer is good for the scratch. Lime doesn't really hurt it as long as it's all mixed/added in the right order - that's key! Also SBR and/or slurry coats if substrates are iffy. .
