Some allow you to water down a tad like microgobetis or PRB and dries quick. knauf betakontakt is good also as it spreads far and dries fairly quick. Thistle bondit I don’t like as is too thick liquid and grain, bostik cementone plaster grit is good but again shouldn’t be watered down.
Usually I can grit in morning skim in afternoon.
Depends on the type and condition of the ceilings. Should be able to use pva on it's own usually. Don't often feel the need to mix materials. Prep work is down to experience.
