Maybe not now, but this forum is growing. If we all tell good spreads about it they join and get behind something we can make a change.
How many college nvqers come on here that no one gives a chance? Loads that's coz they are s**t, so the system is not right!

They will never pass anything that keeps rough plasterers of site or out of the private market as there aren't enough decent spreads to go round and then the good ones really would be able to charge proper rates which wouldn't suit the big companies that also run politics, **** me I've just turned into Twitcher again lol.
LOL the same old prick slagging quals i remember a time when you said (spunky) i wont need a cscs card or the quals then a year later running round like a blue arsed fly trying to sort it. then realising 2 years later a labourers cscs card isnt gonna be good enough. The lads come on askin for advise on getting a level 3 I gave him what i thought was good advise then you attack me as usual with your s**t talk. Its always the same people slagging quals who dont have them and trying to keep[ anyone else down to justify themselves being thick as pig s**t. The trade has always had qualifications and ones that are recognised around the world its upto you wether you get qualified and if you think it doesnt matter coz you wont need them stop burying your head in the sand. Over the last 6 years the cscs card is slowly doing what it was meant to do and thats to get a more qualified work force wether you believe in it or not it aint going away. Im sick of hearing about it being a government thing to do this or do that to **** your life up but its not run by the government as far as im aware. Yeh youve got corgi which doesnt prove if your good at your job but does mean your gonna have to be qualified to do it, plastering is the same having quals means you can do it, any good depends on the person but as anyone knows on site they are clamping down on the unqualified doing the job so my advise is get qualified and spunky if you think im blowing my own trumpet? My advise is the green eyed monster will eat you up so let go and get a life xxxxxxxx
So someone who has been plastering for 20years how do they get there nvq now have they got to go back to collage...???
What do you mean go back?
They can get an onsite assesment do a search.

thats what i am hoping for. My old man wouldn't let me do a nvq he said it was a waste of time after my brother made a mockery of the system.
What did your brother do to make a mockery of the system?
I done level 1 at collage and the plasterer i was with said u won't need the rest of ur nvqs it the experience u need so I left..
Why do you want them now?
I havnt really thought about it until reading these posts

Yeah qualifications are good for show, but even the thickest f**k**s of society know they mean fuuck all when it comes to plastering. Experience is king in our trade.
Two things...it's "gas safe" now, not Corgi and you give advice not advise. Dont pull people on spelling when yours is sh1t!

They gave him plasterer of the year when he never showed up, went fishing instead. When he did go they taught him nothing he just used to mix with dirty water and finish and leave. He learnt a lot of bad habits too.
We dont moderate spellin dickhead and i take it youve got no quals, you do actually learn stuff you will never learn on site, like i said origenally only pricks with no quals slag them, OH and there are a few more spelling mistakes for you to run you eyes over.
If they taught him nothin how the **** did he learn a LOT of bad habits?

Oh I do apologise you're a fantastic plasterer but you don't have this card which costs a thousand pounds lol you can do it or you can't we don't go direct to the likes of Pearce cowlins or lang o rourke we go through contractors who couldn't give a **** about what card you've got along as you're cheap and that is the bottom line, you wont get nvq3 as standard because no one can afford it and no one will implement it so stop getting so emotional go and park you're car on a hill take the handbrake off and quickly get behind it and lie down xxx

the way its going,
5 years time i reckon it will be mandatory on site to have your papers. i did my level 3 and got my gold card and never used it once up until about a year ago, now Im frequently asked for it, and as a result all my lads have now completed there level 3 because its been stipulated by contractors employing us on a more regular basis

my point was more aimed at lads with the basic card,
a level 2 is fine,but im finding contractors asking for workers to be level 3 qualified, whether is something to do with a level 2 being reasonably easy to get who knows. i did my level 3 when i was an apprentice as my wage when up on the condition that I had it.
you can get assesed on site for your level 3 its very little hasstle and not that expensive either, and is tax deductable if your self employed anyhow, id rather pay it to the nvq people than osbourne at the end of the year.
