Also can't believe this Knauf Day has over shadowed the biggest forum wedding of the year, Caspers!

I'm just on the train now en route to Glasgow for the 12o'clock wedding, pics to come later :RpS_thumbsup:

That's why I couldn't come to the German day out Danny :-)

Good day

I have to say that the spray demos and training were poor.

What a piss poor way to promote mp finish

Hi Guys

firstly - sorry I didn't manage to get to the event, stuck in meetings in central London. Was hoping to get back for the factory tour, 6 years in and I have not done a UK one yet! (but, then I look after cement boards)

We are keen to have all honest feedback and I hope the others who attended get the chance to comment.... Steve ( @Curry ), please tell us what was not so good in your opinion, we can learn from honest feedback!

(Also, gutted I missed Pizza!!!! LOL )

The Knauf demonstrator did a wall that turned out.............well less than perfect and some gobshite couldn't keep his mouth shut and had to tell the Knauf people exactly what he thought of it.
Just to rub it in the Curry brothers did a wall that came out spot on even though they handicapped themselves by using the two versions of the Wizzyskim lol.
The factory tour was interesting and all the Knauf people were very friendly and knew there stuff, well almost all.
Only three of us stayed over which kept the cost down for Danny as he paid for our roast dinner and beer, thanks Danny.

Hi Guys,

I am finally home :-)

Thanks to everybody that came along :-) It was good to put names to face and to have few beers with you :-) Thanks for the feedback I have spoken to knauf about the feedback and they are in agreement with a quite a few things.

This was the first event of this kind so we knew it was going to be a little bit hit and miss and all were valid points so hopefully the next one we can address them and it will be better :-)

Thanks @Curry for putting that wall on as well as I think definitely helped others see what finish can be achieved and also was good to see the speedskim in full action :-)

I thought it was a great day and thanks to Knauf for the chance and hopefully get another one organised at Immingham for everybody in teh new year :-)

Danny

Quality finish not achieved then andy?.

Not by the guy demonstrating the material no, some of the other lads did ok with it although it seemed to have a really greasy surface after being on the wall for some hours. Steve Currier did a wall near a door with a bit of draft and got a good finish on his.
I could see it being a struggle to get two moves in a day the way it was hanging about.

I like using it, you can throw it on then go down the cafe and not worry to much about it. If you get on it too quick it seems to hold back too long tho

we used the mp finish and we had never used it before on a high quality job the finish had to be pukka as it had been...........ahem facked up once before with someone else, we managed to get 2 or 3 sets out of a day and the finish was mustard:RpS_confused: in fairness though we did have a whole unit to go at rather than one wall so we could throw a load on the leave it start the second hit in the next room trowel up first with second goin off then button up everything else on the 3rd hit whilst second was picking up.
apparently the fussy client loved the finish but it wassnt white enough for them haha
