Lads I've had my Bosch GR11e nicked by some thieving little s**t stain apparently it's discontinued- has anyone used or using the GR12 drill - it's only got one gear on it so I'm told - or maybe the mega mixer from Refina ?? What's the best drill out there at the mo . They stole my favourite toy

If you prepared to spend a couple of hundred you'd be better off buying new one so you got warranty on it. There's loads out there, you can get one from aldi for 30 quid or you can spend up to 3-400 on a branded one.If money is matter try eibenstock apparently it's the same as refina for less money.

Eibenstock are the manufacturer. The Megamixer is re branded by Refina.

We have the 1800w Alfra Eibenstock on offer for £245.00 + VAT

Delivery to UK mainland is included

Please let me know if you need anymore information

@plasterersonestopshop.
I'm looking at investing in a new hand mixer. Had mine 10 years but have been looking at that Alfra 1800w or the double paddle one. If I was to use it for monocouche, which would be the one to get?
Cheers in advance

I would advise the 1800w mate. I personally don't rate the dual paddle mixers

All I have ever used is collomix .i have seen the others and don't know if they are any good or not but for me collomix xo6 with a 160 negative paddle can't be beaten..will last u years and mixes up anything including render...I will never use any other.

I think you'd are all off your heads paying hundreds of pounds . I bought one 3 years ago from lidl for £40 and it goes like a dream still cracking drill drill similar online was £180 . Look out for the deal in lidl because they are on sale every couple months .

When you're mixing 6/8 bags of basecoat/dash receiver/mono at a time in a large drum these cheap drills burn out.

They're fine for a couple of bags of multi here and there but when the going gets tough they can't handle it.

I totally agree with that, they not designed to handle 6-8 bags in one hit

My trusty £30 B&Q 240 looks like its on its way out :( Had it years , reckon it was doing mushrooms for insulation board that did it rather than mixing.
Brushes defo going , ill be on the look out for Lidl one myself :) 6-8 bags in a hit would kill me nevermind my drill

Hit the nail on the head mate, cheap ones ok for a bit of multi but if your feeding a gang or machine for mono or base coat your gonna need a beast [emoji106]

I've got refina 1800 mega mixer and it's good mate.id only use refina personally, you get what you pay for mate.sorry to gear that bloody scumbags.

I hope @Nisus doesn't read that! six to eight bags in a hit? He'll have palpitations just thinking about it. :)

I got sent a makita one... it is good but they want the same money as an eibenstock one ....

u can get the bosch grw11e on ebay still 500 quid

Do t buy the new Bosch grw 12. Rubbish.
The grw 11 as talked about on another thread will do it all, mixed forklift tubs of mono with mine, tubs of s&c, 5 bags stiff drywall at a time, never even changed bushes in it.
The eibenstock is a good drill, the grw 11 is probably overkill, but it's the best if money is no object.
Don't like the slow start on the eibenstock either, but that's just my preference, they are a good drill.

I'd like to see the figures for the festool coz as u probably know festool don't make any old crap ice never heard anything bad about the quality of festool

Honestly don't think you can beat the Refina mega mixer not just on what's inside but also a good design for dropping now and again.

and they take an age to stop spinning...
I think they can be quite dangerous to be fair . A mate I work with has one and also the speed roller button . I've forgotten to turn it back down when cleaning the wisk and have covered half the room in water many of times lol

I've got a serious dilemma coz the festool mx 1600 is a thing of beauty buy the collomix Xo6 also looks good and then there's the old faithful eibenstock/alfra/refina 0
