What fixings

My mate has had insulation boards fitted and full house dry dashed. Question is he’s wanting to build a pergola coming from the house so he can sit under when it’s raining, question is, what type of fixing could he use to attach the timber to the back of the house? Obviously the insulation boards won’t hold much weight so have to go through the boards into brickwork.

Rawl bolts, you can get all different lengths.

These normally get me out of trouble
Different length thickness about but drill correct size holes and waz straight in no need for plugs and the like (hole in dashing way larger than the fixing)

Would a rawl bolt not expand into the insulation damaging it when tightening bolt?

personally if its a thick insulation id cut the insulation out and direct fix. thats if its going to need to hold much weight or counter lever weight

It’s 100mm insulation

Just sink the timbers in the ground and then there's no need to touch the insulation.

It's only the end that expands in the masonry.

Free standing pergolas are all the rage atm mate look at the aluminium frame ones with adjustable covers in built too ain’t to expensive Tbf and no screws into house needed

Just drill with a bit first then fire them in i used them putting a pergola up into pebble dash
