What size s*p*r*lex?

I've been reading about the new age of plastering tools and can't wait to try something different. I've got some speedskims coming tomorrow and looking at getting a s*p*r*lex but not sure what size to go for. I've always used a 13x5 for everything, occasionally get the 11 inch out if I'm hurting.
What size superflexes do you guys have and how do you find them and would you change?

I've got a 14 inch Refina s*p*r*lex that sits in my van because it hardly ever gets used. I don't rate it. My mate has been using a 16 inch nela that is a good size but it ripples and stripes his wall on the final polish.
 
I did my own hsl last.month...left s*p*r*lex to last trowel...but if water on the trowel with a brush...wasn't really any plaster on the back of the trowel as I did last trowel...still left ripples
 
Use to use 11inch Mt on final trowel.but use the nela flex 2 14inch now and if used right takes a lot of wear off your body. Don't be fooled though using it whilst plaster is wet will make it wobbly so use a normal trowel first

I have jumped on every bandwagon regarding plastering in recent times....
I am now sooooo confused......once upon a time I had two trowels ahanging on my bucket, a newish one being broken in on render, and an older one just for skimming. I used to take them off and use the bucket for water......
Now.... I have a"special" bucket just for the plethora of trowel porn I take to site every day..
I've gotta thisflex for that and a thatflex for this, I've got a spat, I've got blades both steel and plastic, I've got mt, tyzack and oz....various midget trowels (I don't even know any midgets)....
When did it all get so complicated.........☹️️☹️️☹️️

I use them personally use them all the time although you have change your timings a bit but physically its alot easier if you get used to it.
Ive got an 18
I lay on with normal marshal town
Flatten with plazi
Then flatten with marshal
Then flatten with super
Then finish with the super
Thats for the second coat at least.
Also get the super 2 if its refine the 1st generation tends to get a funny bend in it which makes it useless after a while
 
People say about "adjusting timings " on the super flex but never elaborate. I've skimmed walls and trowelled up with a super flex some of the wall will look lovely and some of the same wall will ripple? Same wall, same suction, same timings but inconsistent results?
 
Maybe to much pressure.
You can finish a wall a little earlier i think aswell.
Hard to say really if you trowel to early it doesnt flatten it properly plus it goes job to job im on a job where its taking 4 hours to set atm so i cant give you specific timings.
On the second coat i do as i said above with only a few mins break inbetween.
I dont get ripples unless i use alot of water and the trowel jumps.
Also you dont need as much water just a few drops should be fine.

If it's flat is shouldn't. Think it's just something you have to figure out does sound like too much pressure or too early. I started using speed skims and on the overskimming I get (never flat and straight) I struggle to use them without having ripples, but others use them no problem and I can see the potential in it so I will persist :)
