I did a double garage ceiling board and skim a few months back and now the customer has since had the walls boarded out and now what's them skimming. What would you do we're the new board meets skimmed ceiling ?

Well you can run a wet brush around the edge if you really want to before you skim to it but that's optional. Just skim up to it.

Just tell them it will crack and they will need to put dec's caulk along ceiling lines before decorating

pva round ceiling edge, skim up to it, then tape round angles if ya want, or skim up to it and decoreators caulk round gap to stop cracking. or fuk it and skim up to ceiling and leave it.. 3 choices, best one is the 1st and it goes downhill from there..lol

give the ceiling line a good wet in , ask them to leave the wall board 2-3mm gap from the ceiling , ram some bonding in the gap and put a line of scrim tight up the ceiling then skim .

If the job allows it then as church says ... done this before myself on similar jobs or where someone's boarded a ceiling and there's a gap from ceiling to wall etc and patched in... if not then caulk it after its dried like others mentioned

Normally would just board tight up to the ceiling and skim , putting scrim on and blending in the ceiling ermmm well if they are that bothered id skim the ceiling or tell them it wont be scrimed so could crack etc the balls in there court then

You can just scrim across the joint or put stop bead across
you could make joint bigger and fill it with flexible tile adhesive, keep this tip to yourself, it's what top notch polish plasterers do..polish not polish, pollll not po

Garage ceiling !!! Probs will crack what ever you do so just tell them that. Cover your arse it's the only way really , an i dont mean that in the literal sense!! before the usual suspects start

Wet your ceiling line and get on with it.
When the ceiling line cracks it's a decorators job - caulk :RpS_thumbup:

use paper tape... then feather in with easifill to the ceiling.. sorted... tape on 1st.. piece of piss...

if u poke some bonding in there and wet the edge before u start ,the bonding should hold the moisture for a fair ammount more than the skim does in a perfect world , thus reducing shinkage cracks by about at least 50/50

Is there a room above the garage?.cause if so you want to be caulking it with some intumescent mastic.

Lot of fuss over a garage ceiling boys! Just board it skimm it and run a bead of caulk along the joint before painting.

It's only garage not a living room. If I have garage, I won't board it up so I can store in extra beads above the joists and stuffs.

I'm using The Plasterers Forum Mobile App

Depends whats above garage. Ie another room. Then reg say you have to board it.
