What been your high point of 2013 work wise or other.
Myself getting paid £250 for spreading 1 bag of multi , having my mega mixer nicked and taking a tumble week before christmas still unable to go back to work, other then that same old same old re skims.

High points have been a few good tips and jobs that paid well and taking a lad on apprentice to do the donkey work. Low points (quite recent) death of a builder and very good friend aged 47 thanks to cancer :RpS_crying: very gutted about that but we all need to carry on etc. I hope 2014 is a good one for everybody on the forum and we all keep busy and more importantly paid on time! Oh hang on high point joining the forum!! Yes that's it (do I get a cup now Danny ??) :RpS_thumbup:

Married and baby this year. End of the years has been a bit of a pisser all driven by some cuntz in a office that owe me a lot of dosh

Hope you get it pal I read on another thread that its a lot and fingers crossed for you. Especially now you have a little'un as well.

I'll get it they owe it and they know it. Just dragging payments out by querying pointless things which we are in the right about.

Im subbing to the drylinging subby and the main contractor are the real cuntz not paying them but we are the ones suffering.

I'll get every penny then never work in that circle again. Their loss in the end as they are ******* over all the good plastering contractors. It's got silly in the past 5 years.

Just getting to the end of 2013 with health and sanity is a high point for me. Some on going health problems in the household but there is always someone worse off then you. The announcement from the wife that next September we will have the pitter patter of tiny feet once again. Finishing the year with bookings for the next is always a plus.

Really hate that shiit, that's why I stayed small, the fn hassle of getting good people and getting paid, they are coontz doing it to the small guy

Yer I'm out of there. Im setup to do 1000's of m2 a week but that just gets you in deep very quick and at the moment its not worth doing. Hopefully things will change or I will learn my lesson and be more assertive about what I need and walk if I don't get it. Get the feeling that will mean I won't get any new contracts for a while.

But that's good as I need to focus on my wife and little boy instead of putting shite on the walls and fighting to get paid what's owed.

Nothing too much of note,no bad stuff thankfully, bought and sold a house which was nicely profitable ,sadly very hard to buy at the minute but that's ok, work was reasonably good, only fell out with one builder, not owed a penny this yor but have old debts from 2008.only in hospital for two days and off only five weeks which is not bad for me.had eight pups by our bitch which was a nightmare, got them all sold except for two of which we kept one and one to my gf sister.hoping this year will be good ,lots coming up ,main aim is to buy and renovate and resell..best wishes all

Got married :RpS_thumbsup:

Work-wise I seem to be heading where I want to be so all is good :RpS_thumbup:

Curry,The Plasterer is becoming a pawn in a game where nobody knows the rules, where everybody consequently doubts that there are rules at all, and where the vocabulary has been diminished to such an extent that nobody is even sure what the game is all about. read this reminds me of those T***s that owe you money.

I'm giving it another year and if I don't see a massive improvement then I'm out and going to do something else. Past few years have been hard work and with a one year old daughter I'm just sick to death of the hours worked and the money owed.
No work = stressed out = no money coming in.
Loads of work = stressed out = no money coming in.
The other thread on here with the guy staying with his parents doing cheap jobs working out his car just sums up what the trade has descended to.

High point probably being in a position to take external work on.

low point probably the time and money wasted in quoting work for people have no intention of paying a decent price for and don't have announce of guilt about wasting your time and evening.

we haven't got kids yet because we can't afford them, we haven't got our own house yet because we can't afford it, so like Stuart, I am going to give it 6 months and look at a different career path if things don't dramatically improve.

kept working all year,, money alright, not great, but not owed anything,, also another plus---christmas over for another year

everyones missed the good point ,of the best summer in 10 years. great for us external lads.

bad points, the green deal farce, h+s seems to be getting dafter, outfits dragging payment terms out.

You would be lucky to find some decent builders capable of getting a 1000m2 in front of you ready at a time,
Some of the commercials we do, i find your always waiting on and chasing the M&E trades who never get that far ahead to allow huge areas.

The green deal never got out of the starting blocks how many folk taking up the offer was it 20 or something .

High points

Passing my bike test
Getting some big sponsors on board
1 announcement that can be announced till feb march :D :D

Low Points

Terrible Health
Spending another holiday in hospital
Excepting that i cannot move abroad
Family issues

health physically and good mental health are the big keys to our physical world.

High point would be landing a 12k job in the summer, weather was beautiful, working renovating an empty house and finishing work early on Wednesdays to play tennis!

low point would be van alternator packing up and conking out at a roundabout in rush hour. :RpS_angry:

You got plenty of work on now?

Hi points, having the busiest year yet, some good work keeps coming in, booked up till at least march. Lows, having to replace the engine in a relatively new transit, stressed out to the gills with the old, (when you coming to me?) and bending over backwards for everyone!

High points ....keeping my head above water :RpS_thumbup:
Low points ....keeping my head just above water :-(
Keep on swimming lads , head up and come on 2014 !:RpS_thumbup:

High Points: Setting up the very popular G** Section with Fatarm & getting Nisus into a tight corner with The Birmingham Babe Channel.......................:RpS_laugh:

I have two high points. 1. The birth of my amazing daughter (she may be clampys. Were waiting for the test results)

2. And this is probably the most Important. Discovering henry isnt dead afterall. Although by the sounds of it hes not got long left....
