Curry,The Plasterer is becoming a pawn in a game where nobody knows the rules, where everybody consequently doubts that there are rules at all, and where the vocabulary has been diminished to such an extent that nobody is even sure what the game is all about. read this reminds me of those T***s that owe you money.

They don't even understand correct snagging procedures. Who the **** submits snag sheets with out the final lighting in place. Then come back to use after hand over with the clients snags sheet which has remedial work which can only now be seen when the ceiling grid lighting is on.

When I say that they think I'm off my head blaming the lighting for poor final finishes.

High point was building my own extension (with a bit of help from my friends) and being able to keep the promise to the wife of moving into our new kitchen/diner in time for Christmas

Low point was when I started digging the foundation and was told by building control I had to go down 2.2metres. I nearly filled the hole back in again at one point and thought I'd spend the money on a new patio instead!

low points of the year my old mum 85 this week had a stroke earlier in the year twice and as left her a bit dolally , memorys gone, traveling back and forward to see her in uk ,got fined 60 yoyos for speeding 53 klicks an hour in a 50 klick zone and then miss the court date , so they fined me 400 yoyos, high points of the year decided not to pay fine ,was carted off to prison in mountjoy dublin spent three hours locked up , had two loverly chicken curry dinners , one of the lads was too nervous to eat and got a150 yoyo private job off one of the lads who was in there for none payment of fines too, sent home no more fine, then this boxing day got a call from my bro and my old mum said hello son how yer doing , that was the best yet , love yer mum !

My mums same age mate also had a stroke now in a home and wont recover the government will soon be taking her house to pay for her care though if some pikey euro fcker turns up on our coast with nothing wont have to pay a thing, other than that been a **** year realy lost a few quid on a job which has been hard to catch up, taxman wants to talk to me, minor problem, had my house in Spain robbed completely cleaned out and to put the icing on the cake company we were working for broke there promise and never paid on invoice the week before Xmas as promised. Next year and never again not working for companies anymore no more invoices sticking to a few cash builders and my private work.

on contract type of work you have to argue your corner. you are only allowed to light your work area using 110v but it is being checked with 240v lighting.
this is the type of thing that happens on work for goverment contracts. you need top prices, as the sub contractors leave one man behind to do all remedial work then they snag the remedial work.
i know one clerk of the works that warn off all sub contractors on the day that they start that there is going to be a lot of problems as he is going to square the main contractor up for what they done to him when he was a subbie.

been in some houses snagging after other spreads and there is pencil marks fu----- everywhere, after trying to see what is wrong on some of the pencil marks and giving up, i then get the finishing foreman to show me and even they could not show me... the pri---

we were on a contract council houses years ago , my dad was the contracts manager for the firm and me and my brothers were subbing to him,The clerk of works was acnut of a ex plumber and him and my dad use to nearly come to blows , my dad was old time served chippy and had run jobs in the millions ie royal free hospital hampstead, well this c of works decides after we tacked a few units that they should be double tacked, putting another nail half an inch away from the first, so we had to go around renailing what was a load of b&^(*^%(&. anyway we missed a load of them so the C of works goes aroundand draws a ring around weather said nails should be, Gets on to the agent about the misses we get a B$%^&%& and then phones my dad saying C of works not happy with our work etc. SO theres a big site meeting arranged, I think British Gypsum sent a rep up , The C of works is loving it etc Till the rep and my dad etc agree that theres no structural reason to double nail especially since its being tape jointer and all its causing is more weakness in the boards, so the C of works is pretty p%^&$ off at this development But hes more P*&^&*% off when my old man sends a letter to the Council asking whos going to pay for the extra coats of paint because some c&*^ decided to draw rings around nails in every room of the houses in FELT TIP MARKER , we laugh for days and lads were going around the job adding more rings ,Great days
