whats best to repair chipped lime run coving. the coving has little bits chipped off the edged. I was thinking of getting a small tub of putty lime and plaster paris its just getting it to stick to coving. Any tips welcome.

Henry, also, if there is no need to use joint rules for carving back, try wet and dry paper, use quite a fine grade, as you can be quite precise and not so "heavy handed"with wet and dry as to joint rules, hope this is of help.

Two part epoxy you mix together in small quantities as it goes of quick but sticks well but you should be alright with plaster of paris just dont get it in your eyes.

Plaster of Paris is the best. Ordinary filler (easi-fill) is a poor second. Never use sandpaper; joint rule or scraper with a bit of creative finger and wet brush to blend in. It is only gauged with lime if you have a large area (ie new work) to cover. All is in Millars and Vitruvious. (Except for Easi-Fill and sandpaper!)
