iv never really worked on m2 price befor
let alone worked dierect with a big firm like this on my own soo if youv got any pointers please help

im 2 coating at the minute and getting £2.75 rough & £2.75 skim

£5.50 all in over old brickwork too, was £6.00 for me about 4 yrs ago.

bit of an eyeopener thats a good rate at the moment for float and set ive never had more than 6.00 m2 in 28 years

What sort of metreage do you site boys get on when float and set? cos at 6quid a metre, even if it was all new block work Id no way be able to lay on enough to earn a good days money! well, I dont imagine so anyway! and how do you go about it, do you float and set say one area of 10m2 and then afternood do another area of 10m2, or do you float the lot, and skim at the end of the day? Only curious as am a domestic boy meself so never get huge areas, and if I do, I get a damn site more than that so dont have to lay on huge metreage!

We all know what old brickwork can be like, can take twice as long, wouldnt earn **** all!

you pva or soak the brickwork and work like a whippet! boooy! :RpS_laugh:

cant do that on metre prices mate... just gotta wack it on, nice and tight, rule it down and on to the next bit...

soon as the first bit you done starts to change colour, get on the skimming...

or leave it a bit longer, get some more backing on and wet the wall down again before you skim it...

over four years ago we were getting 6 quid aswell labour only.
last batch we did was about 800 metres on a school at £12 hardwall and finish LPM.but i was the princilpal contractor.
id float an entire area out then skim it all up freerider on site,

'rough'means floating out.

Its the knocking up I cant stand, if I had a labourer I could lay loads on but when knocking up for yourself you literally can use a whole bucket off a spot in about 30seconds!

frack building site work ,in the eighties it was all rough work,no drylining, good money as well(well, for my bloody boss:RpS_sneaky:)
got offered 9 new builds last year, told them £9 m2,boarding and skimming,he laughed and said he has got one for £4.50. i said wouldent get out of bed for that, and i won't,monkeys work for peanuts:RpS_thumbup:

Me and the old man float n set 50 mtrs a day on old and new in the last few weeks on a school.getting £ 6 a m2 seems 2 be going rate in mids area and where no mugs as between us we have over 60 years in the game.f**k me im getting old

i priced 9 quid,he said he got someone for 4.50.
on domestic jobs,you would want a lot more,per m2.
as i said,i wouldent touch site work,even if i was desperate,i would rather:RpS_sleep:

i did a office floor the other week in manc land £5m2 just for skimming, all the boarding was done, nice big offices, great job and lots of m2 per day:RpS_thumbup:

I dont price by the metre, other people price ME by the metre... fine if theres loads of it..
anyone asks me a metre rate always ask "depends on how many f'ckin metre dunnit you c'nt".... with the emphasis on "c'nt" :RpS_laugh:

The firm i work for its £4.50 float and set which me and the old man have to float till 11 using 24 to 30 bags hardwall and set a day to earn a crust is anyone else getting better prices in south east for a firm who pays regular each week?

**** that tell em to get some ruskies in-im in the midlandsv and getting nearly twice that-moved up here 6 years ago and it seems to be far less cut throat than all that london bollox-theres too many people after the same bit of work-plus the people in the countryside seem to be wedged

I tell you what, why don't we just tell everyone on an open forum how much were willing to work for and how much we charge a m2, can't see any harm in it, surely no one is looking at these threads !!!!!

Think of a number between 1 and 3, half it, divide it by 2, take away 50 percent and there's your answer

Grand you dont half work for some s**t rates .... ffs man grow some balls and tell them to stick it up their ass.
Move down here and you'd think you won the lottery lol

£8 m2 float and set is a average price, you wont find no one down here who'll do it for much less

That,s garbage Rich were gettin £25m2 up here :RpS_wink:

we should all realise there are 2 types of plasterer, Site boys and domestic boys. 2 tottally different breeds as in site boys would usually get through twice as much in a day talk alot less, eat less and drink less brews. No offence domestic boys but thats life.

so come to prices some lads do and can make money at site rates and others would be dead by dinner time its as simple as that.

i respect anyone who can make money plastering - because on site they are grafting more than any other trade I have ever seen, no lies, you dont see any other trade pulling their balls out like plasterers do. and domestic lads are doing well to get enough work in all year round to stay busy as well as looking round peoples houses mostly of an evening time.
