Currier I'd make you look like a 2 week courser and put my house on it ..... There's no way you can finish plaster with a flexible blunt spatula I haven't used the finish plaster but it can't be any different to multi or mp75

I've seen the walls finished using a spat down at BG and to be honest I wouldn't accept them on my jobs. When we did our day working with the Spray Finish down there I found that there were a few areas of pimples that needed a hard trowel to get them down and there's no way you can put as much pressure on a spat as you can with a trowel, not even close.

totally agree

I have to disagree, we got a good finish with the spats and plastic trowels.

You really think we would have spent 10k on a machine and over 500 squid on hand tools if it wasnt good enough???

I promise im picky as **** with making sure our work is 100%

I really dont understand the negitivity towards all this I know it works but i just guess others are hoping it will all fail as its something new they are worrying about.

You're not getting the finish with the spat are you you're getting it with the plastic trowel

You've used the plastic haven't you Dave, when it's not going well do they deal with the problems as well as a good carbon steel trowel? I not bought/used one but just can't imagine them doing so.

There brilliant andy you could trowel up with a shovel and cross trowel with them and it comes out mint there are downsides they nick easy and the handles horrible I use the 14" the blade bends completely the wrong way after a few days but it doesnt really matter because there so flexible but I'd be weary of getting the bigger sizes because I reckon you'll get misses, I lay on flatten with a steel give it a wet one with a steel then if it starts furring up a bit with a plastic I'll use the steel again but always polish with the plastic

It was just a comment from a site agent on I think my second day on site (16 years young) when he watched me scratching up and cutting out a S&C wall, I'm sure there's plenty of others on here here that have the same or similar said about them.

On my first day the gaffer of the big building company we were subbing to said he wouldn't pay me with washers:-0
Years later, I reminded him of that when he asked me to come and work for them. He just said that washers were worth a lot back then .............
