Hi,
I was hoping someone could clear something up for me, we're currently renovating a house and it needs a whole lot of plastering work . We're planning on getting a lime plasterer in for most of it as it's an old Victorian house and the solid walls need to be breathable etc. Part of our kitchen is an extension and cavity wall construction. It's an L shape area about 9m2, it's all bare brick at the moment, pretty square and in good condition. This whole area will be covered by floor to ceiling cupboards (and will have the boiler on it).
I was thinking that it would be more cost effective for us to plasterboard it and then get a plasterer in to skim it but my wife is a purist and is keen on continung the lime plastering and getting this plastered in the same way as the solid walls. Generally speaking which method would be cheaper for us? When we eventually get some plasterrs in to quote I want everything to be ready to go for them.
Hope that makes some sense!?
Cheers,
James
