When i started back in 86 all the spreads used to wear white overalls .Now you never see plasterers wearing any kind of coveralls .Does any one on here still wear white overalls or is this something that died out along with using full scaffolds for skimming ceilings and using a spot board and stand ?. AHHHHHH.....nostalgia ,it aint what it used to be.

i started in 76 beader, have worn white overalls from that day to this day, but i do remember some of the older plasterers,bricklayers/joiners coming to work wearing ties, but most of the older tradesmen then wore brown bib and brace overalls, health and safety issues back then were non existant compared to today and this was john laings.

Still wear white overalls , full scaffold, sometimes although i have stillts and some times use board and stand depending otn the job..:RpS_thumbsup:

Good on ya fellas.I dont wear the overalls anymore as i find they restrict movement but do sometimes wear a white apron to keep the worst off as for full scaff its not always practical doing domestic but the spot and stand is always on the van as i hate taking stuff out of a bucket . Its my opinion that when spreads stopped bothering with such things as these is when the trade started going down the shitter.

Yeh boy! its all about looking like a right Jack the ******* lad!!

In all seriousness though.. I actually think dressing laid back, the easy going approach swings jobs for me, my work is professional but to talk to and how I come across Im just a normal guy, I can't stand over formal approach to any form of business! much better when you are personable!

P.s. did I mention I also plug me iPhone into the stereo, pump out the tunes, sun glasses on, few lines of speed and away we go, 200m a day easy, and look ******* sick with it!! \m/

I once did a load of speed at work.....I was sh1t. Just walking around like a headless chicken while everyone laughed at me.
