I don't understand why you would go back if you are getting £2K plus per month? Are people that f**king greedy? This is a perfect opportunity to spend time with family, take up a hobby etc.
They can't afford not to, apparently

I reckon that the only interaction I'll need to make will be at the petrol station having to top the van up

Maybe they’ve got the opportunity to work and earn completely within the guidelines and don’t want to take a grant and drain an already struggling economy when they don’t have too

I’m opening all My projects back up on Monday, all lads back in (8), plus another 2 developers are opening/allready back in so we’ll be full tilt within reason.Mothballing sites only works for so long, we’re part of the Chain and need to crack on so other trades can follow us. There doesn’t seen to be any exit plan from the government which is making business nervous in general.

How are you expected to manage the social distancing and what's the method statements?

Genuine question

One of my bespoke-one-off house builder contacts has'nt stopped at all. Part cash-flow & part client on his back about progress. Trying to keep them working by spacing his young lads out, but the roof is on now so they're working inside. Selfish client is proably sweating a big bank loan, until it can be converted to mortgage upon substantial completion.

Technically the responsible safety person for the site is legally responsible for making it up. Usually this is the Site Agent or the Client, neither of whom care and will deny everything when it goes tits up. In reality it seems to work like this-
Delivery drivers - f*ck off over there while I use the HIAB, or kick it off the back, I'll sign the receipt for you. You carry it inside before it rains.
Boards 2.44 long so stay one board apart and you're good. Try not to breath on each other when you brush past, brush passes are ok. Take your breaks in the van, use the same mug when the lad makes the teas.

Butty vans are back in was rammed today had a lovely bacon & egg

Was hilarious sign for the 2m when queuing
& 4 butty workers in a 4mx 2 m
Van

Your welcome

I’ll give you a genuine answer then.

It’s difficult in the nature of what we do, but the thing that does make it a bit easier is we’re on the outsides ie on the scaffold away from other trades.
I’m CHAS so they have devised a generic method statement and risk assesment that I need to tweek a bit. On the 2 projects I’m on, none of the internals have gone back as they can’t implement adequate distancing so I don’t know how they’ll fare.

That's where I'm unsure even rendering as we all know you need 2 men on a lift and helping each other.

I think we all know it cant be done safely its money/progress over health ain't it.

This is the problem I'm having on assessing work.

They’d have to be very careful, as you can see law suits with it and this being the new ppi. “Did you work on a building site during the corona pandemic ? If so you, may be entitled to compensation “......

It’s within reason isn’t it as long as you’ve done due diligence with it.
My mrs works in a firm of solicitors, she’s had guidence sent over how they’ll refigure the office on her return. It’s nonsense moving desks about and the like, then they all use and touch the same photo copier same tea making facilities etc etc...

No one is getting money till June tho , so if u need to put food on the table , people live week to week , not justifying it just playing devil advocate
Yeah a very small few who have a few hundred quid in their account would struggle. If anyone's in that position they're doing something badly wrong though and will need to rethink if their business is actually a business after this

I honestly dont know what to say on the matter.

I dont see how sites can be all over the top with helmets, goggles, gloves, no eating etc etc etc

But then ignore goverment guidelines on Corona virus, the mind boggles.

There really is alot if confusion out there now.

The goverment need to improve there message what it actually is or its going to all go to tits very soon I think!

I.ve had 4 domestic jobs call in last two days asking if I.m working.
Saw plenty of trades going in to peoples houses. Saying we have hit peak now so I reckon this three weeks will be seen out first

That was me 20 years ago ! Young family , big mortgage, I know how it feels ! I’d be working if it was 20 years ago so I can’t judge

I’ve not really stopped. Been running a limited timetable like the transport system lol. Not through choice. I’d rather be ALL GUNSFUCKINBLAZING!!! Instead of queuing for the last few bags of board finish at B&Queue

The only reason you have been able to carry on in scotland is because you were not suppose to be out therefore you have stock.

In england you are still allowed hence stock has run out.
