I been lucky enough to have been in Wythenshawe Hall, Been to look at a ceiling that needs doing. Re lath and plaster, cornice to run around the room, recast and re hang 4 corbels and 4 ribs to run insitu. Had a look at some of the restoration work that’s been done, it’s absolutely outstanding.

What a little s**t... wonder if he will go back k and do it again

We got it done, it’s taken three months to complete, two of us. Lath and plaster three coat lime, ribs run in situ, Cornice run in situ on scotch brackets in lath and lime work
Fibrous work to corbels. Curves fitted. Been a head scratcher at times. Running the hanging mould around the lantern was a particular challenge as was lining the ribs in with the lantern moulding.

And in -situ to boot. Congratulations, that is a legacy piece of work for future generations of your family and others see. Probably only real spreads and specialists will ever be able to actually understand and fully appreciate it.

Excellent project!

I visited it a few years ago and it was full of lawn-movers and maintenance equipment, neglected and looked like it would decay into oblivion. I think the council used it to store maintenance stuff then. It had obviously once been a beautiful building and it's wonderful to see your work in restoring it.

This is the Clock room next to the bar area. It was the meeting room for the “Friends of Wythenshawe Hall” The lantern had been leaking for years and the ceiling was in a real bad state. It’s been decorated in distemper. Just the carpet to go down now,

This is a thread that's worth reviving. Just run through the stage photo's again, still amazing.
Think they should have these as a picture display in the hall to show visitors, and justify it all being restored properly.
