Hi chaps,
Do any of you have any dealings with bullnosed radius skim beads.
Basically an arched bead which enables vinyl to be wrapped around a 90 degree bend. Our supplier is having problems with the machine and iv exhausted google looking for another ? Anybody use these ?
Cheers
Knauf metal and board, British gypsum board finish skim. Knauf reps where involved before I even got on site, non staggering of boards, no flat strap at top of boards, not enough studs meeting top track, many many issues. Problem is there's 1000 Sqm left and I certainly ain't doing it twice again.
Although the walls have been ripped to pieces by knauf reps I'm still having to redo walls for free in order to get my next job through the same company. Paying lads hotel petrol and labour to finish it is killing me.
No mate, iv been paid, iv got another 1000sqm to finish on that job plus I start another 17k job for them on Monday. Having a bit of trouble with this perticular job and it feels they want to pin it on me. The contracts manager is saying it's my fault as iv not pre filled joints before plastering.
To be honest flynnyman it says on the top of the guide
this document is a guide only and should not be read in isolation, I believe this means it should not be used against a certain incident or to set apart something.
Im new to this Jessop, can you bring up my previous thread and look over the issue?
Heres the guide guys

To cut a long story short in still receiving complaints from a job which I have mentioned in a previous thread on here. They are using the thistle plastering guide as a reference to snag my work. I was not taught to do this and as I have said I have never seen this done, however it does state it...
Hi chaps, this maybe an amateur question however I'm just after a bit of clarity. How many of you guys apply self adhesive scrim to a plasterboard wall then plaster all joints, wait for the joints to go firm but not set then begin the plastering process ? Is this common procedure as I have...
This may sound like a very amateur question guys but can you all advise me on how many of you prep your walls by skimming your joints first letting it go firm but not set, then start plastering your walls ?
The walls seemed bang on when we where skimming, our finish was smooth and flat, even walls we did on the Monday where fine on the Friday, 10 days later I was called back.
Hi chaps, meeting went well. On the walk around the client he pulled a perticular wall, the said wall shook upto 100mm when pressed on with my hand. Knauf have done a report on the construction of all the metal framing and have pulled it to bits due to a number of reasons, 1 due to no bracing...
Iv sanded some, Iv re skimmed 30% of the worst ones today, inspection with client in the morning. It's being put on my toes, must be due to something. 60 years experience between the 4 of us and we've never experienced it before so it's not down to being applied wrong. Mind boggling.....
Hi guys,
apologies if this topic has already been posted. I and 3 of my lads have recently skimmed 600sqm of plasterboard walls on a site in Glasgow. A week after i finished I was called back. 70-80% of the walls have all peaked on the joints. All framing is metal stud, there are little to no...
