Best solution to clean old plaster off trowls?

wow! some really useful comments especially towords the end, its amazing what you can learn on here a whole new chemistry lesson! :rolleyes)

failling that use clay plaster you can leave it for over a year and just wipe clean, nature at its best... failing all this and you get board just sneak up on some herons? seems the way to go :RpS_scared:
 
Yes this is the best way

Is this thread still going?!? Get a stanley blade scraper and it gets you're trowel looking brand new in about 2 minutes.
Stanley window scraper (small yellow one used by decorators for window dec prep) with a new blade will clean working side and handle side of trowel then finish with wire wool or wet and dry sand paper.
 
Just leave them in clean water for a few days put a stiff brush over them and then back in water for a day or so take them out give them a wipe and them
