brush v sponge =Sponge is king

Personally I plaster with a hawlk ant trowel, what I use to wet the stuff is irrelevant, its still all good. although I only ever now use a sponge for internal work on old walls when plaster tends to suck moister at a rate that you cant level it with a trowel, after all if you cant use a trowel properly are you a plasterer?
