    Sometimes you can’t get your head around planning Iv just got mine accepted for a garage at home, they wanted an apex roof as the garage next door has 1, but wouldn’t accept render finish even though that one is Anyway I stuck to my original plans and it was accepted

    If you all read the OP it’s on a party wall Check with next door maybe kitchen or bathroom backs on to it and is leaking @Stevieo is right condensation wouldn’t normally blow plaster

    He’s right because he’s recommended hacking off and redoing in lime plaster If he was a fraud he would have recommended chemical dpc injection, then damp proof membrane tacked onto walls

    Dollar is wrong on this occasion Your damp proof surveyor was correct However you’ve been done over by the builder, they may have used a lime backing plaster but they’ve used multi finish to skim I’d say the problem you’ve got there is your backing plaster is allowing the damp from the walls...

    I’m doing the work for a stove shop, it’s a dream come true. They do the knock out, tidy up and lay the hearth, I just do my bit and they come back, line the chimney and fit stove and geocast beam
