As a few on here know, i have a little sideline doing personalised workwear.
@John j will vouch it’s top quality stuff made in a factory, not at home on a screen press.
If anyone needs anything for the new year let me know, full range of workwear available
Every job is different. Just because yours has been ok it doesn’t mean they will all be.
Iv seen chimneys with floor joists finishing in the flue! But you don’t need to condemn something that’s worked for 50 years safely
Sometimes you can’t get your head around planning
Iv just got mine accepted for a garage at home, they wanted an apex roof as the garage next door has 1, but wouldn’t accept render finish even though that one is
Anyway I stuck to my original plans and it was accepted
If you all read the OP it’s on a party wall
Check with next door maybe kitchen or bathroom backs on to it and is leaking
@Stevieo is right condensation wouldn’t normally blow plaster
He’s right because he’s recommended hacking off and redoing in lime plaster
If he was a fraud he would have recommended chemical dpc injection, then damp proof membrane tacked onto walls
The property care association and federation of master builders are after subscriptions unfortunately it doesn’t mean anything being a member other than you’ve paid
Dollar is wrong on this occasion
Your damp proof surveyor was correct
However you’ve been done over by the builder, they may have used a lime backing plaster but they’ve used multi finish to skim
I’d say the problem you’ve got there is your backing plaster is allowing the damp from the walls...
I’m doing the work for a stove shop, it’s a dream come true. They do the knock out, tidy up and lay the hearth, I just do my bit and they come back, line the chimney and fit stove and geocast beam
I agree mste the aqua panel is cheap and readily available though
Just got to be really careful when carrying and lifting out the van. It’s sound with plenty of dab behind
Your o ky
Your only as good as the background and it feathered in to both sides, it’ll be sound once painted.
Iv been doing 3 of these a day around Sheffield
The best way is to dot cement board in the opening, stop bead on the face and plaster the front
You can paint cement board, no hassle if it cracking like render
Like this, done hundreds
Could he not do his slab with a toe?
If he wants it to be level with outside ground level.
Good shout on aco drains Iv got a level threshold on some new builds we’re doing at the min to the front door, we’ve put aco across
If you knew what you were on about you wouldn’t have wasted your time repointing first, and you wouldn’t have needed blue grit
You’ve plastered 8 walls, your bragging to blokes who’ve plastered 8000 walls wind ya neck in
You f**k*d it up, it would have probably been worse without the extra time
You ever done one?
I was amazed the speed and organisation on our job.
Where it differed from a normal site was everyone helped each other out, sparks were helping decorators towards the end to get the job done on time
You rendered it yourself didn’t you after watching all those sexy plasterers on site and wishing you were one of them
Now you feel rejected on here so you’re lashing out at us. Come on mate, all brickies wish they possessed the skill we do. It’s not your fault
