To be honest anyone could chuck 3 30m hits on a day if the walls are all decent sized, it's when you have nibs, reveals, cupboards etc your never gonna get that done in 1 day every day!
Yes Danny all well and good in your own property but when you are actually charging customers if your not skilled to do that job you shouldn't be doing end off! Just ask Dominic littlewood! To many cowboys out there pal! Not condoning coursers as some are good spreads!
Champion lads think al go for the 16" super flex- does the 1stopshop sell them? Yeah just like most trowels if ya drop them we all pray they don't leave the dreaded nick!
Right chaps, av got the speed skim using with my MT PERMASHAPE, would you guys recommending using anything else? I've looked at the super flex and plazis but not a lot info on them! I was looking at the new speedskims finishing rules but there only 600mm at the minute! Sorry if this has been...
Terrible- this is what is disrespecting our trade- for gods sake if a sparky is doing that! He's a sparky for a reason- if I wanted to have sockets put in I wouldn't get a plumber! As said before some customers
will not learn!
Just started a refurnished job today! Been told by the manager that I have to have the job finished in 9 days , 900m2, 500lm floating not to mention the beads have to be stuck on, 4 boxes of them and there's one plasterer and a labourer! Sure they live on f**** cookoo land or am I doing...
I've seen me do both and been successful and on another occasion I've lost out and lost the ceiling, got as far as polishing the lid up and the turn for the worst happened....;whole ceiling pealed off! Now if I can I will try and overboard but depends on how much the client is willing to pay!
I dont understand how how clients who haven't got a clue on what to do can dictate to us how much they wanna pay for our services! Disgusting and a lack of respect for us! You done right mate!
Imago the materials were 270.... Doing the job for 500 quid full house....... Must be on 30 quid a day or he's another bloke who hoys 20 bags a day on and finishes at 2pm, ballsdeep I will sleep easy tonight not sure how the client will when he sees the finished job..... No chance of me going...
Wey aye told him I couldn't do it for that told him I would price for it but not for what he was wanting, told him I would but after loosing that job it's pointless wasting my time as the chances who got the other job would probably undercut me anyway! Not wasting my time for anyone who thinks...
Your right mate it's not good at all, the same bloke asked me to price up for parex on his mates house and before I gave him one he said could I do it for 200 quid labour and with that had to pay my labourer?? Honestly the trade is screwed with people putting in stupid prices! 30m2 for the...
Would never go back and put people shite work right mate, hate dong it on site when am working with agency guys! (I've worked with some good uns) but no way would I on a job that I lost out on which I wouldn't off been making massive money on in the first place! The more I think of it the more...
I put in three hard years serving my time and people go on A two week course, that's what's happening mate people on the dole! It's not right and not fair, but to be undercut on a price that's miles away is what hurts our trade the most!
Hi guys, Priced a 3 bedroom house up full uni bond and skim finish with several walls that need hacking off and refloating, put in a price that was a good price for the client well at least that's what I thought and I found out I never got the job as some other guy got it for £850 inc...
I could rant and rave about sparks all day long- especially those who leave about 300mm off cables coming out of sockets! In about 10 years I've only came accross a handful of sparks that try and help us plasterers out!
Seems hard work just thinking about it! Old school for me as well john best way too in my opinion, but hey I suppose it doesn't matter which way you do it,if it paints up alreet ;)
Agree with the above especially the brick work as in my old house exactly the same happened, they had to renew the whole brickwork front elevation as it was all perished!!
Evening chaps, I've gotta small 20m2 rendering job to do in the coming weeks, where's the best place you guys get your fibres for the best price? Yous buy online or at the builders merchant?
