Well I would not let it put me off lime is very forgiving and wonderful to use, Like anything for the first time your always going to be thinking am I doing it correct and unless you have an other spread showing you. The internet is full of advice . Sand is everything in lime rendering a good...

well at this point render systems would come on aboard but jacko88 is well clued up on this. All render lime and sand works is two coat mate what substrate are you going over.

Look mate what your talking about is nothing new we had the same problems 25 yrs ago, gangs coming on sites under cutting each other. Nothing going to take away the feelings you have about other spreads been cheap only you can. Focus on what you can do to reach your goals

All I would say mate is this. If your garden wall has copings then do not render to the edge of the coping like so many do. If you have never done rendering before then get a splatter gun and build your coats of render up this way and finish with a plastic float. splatter gun = tyrolean flicker...
