I wouldn't say it gives you extra meterage but it makes a 3 bag set more manageable without running round like a headless chicken, but if your knocking that meterage out day in day out you don't need it , but I would say try it as they don't cost that much ,some get on with them some don't, hope this helps

get a 600 and 1200 i dont see the need for anything bigger
Cheers thats the kind of sizes i was thinking, im gona stick me order in for these with the ceiling attachment, wont get them till the 7th of jan though, christmas shut down and that.

Three bag hit, should be able to lay it down with one bag if its nice and flat, two bags as a second coat would be way too much. As for how much you use it will depend on background, we often do a three bag hit as a two and one gang sometimes four bag hit with it been laid down with less than fifty percent for second coat, not big areas lots of small areas, beams etc, done a 12 bag hit one day on a massive ceiling but could not do that now..
Three bags first coat, 1 and a bit for second coat and whats left for the revels, that explians it a bit better.:-) Was tought by old timers and they used to do around 70 mtrs a day mixing by hand and in biulders buckets, they never seemed to be rushing around, i dont mix by hand and my buckets are bigger, fook that.:RpS_scared:

Good thread this sounds like someone is making good money, thinking back when we use to have 5 bag hits we seem to get more sq yards then what your saying your getting hmm I know why it just come to me the bags was 8 stone so that make the hits 10 bags in today's time:RpS_thumbsup:

I do day works now, no money in price at the moment, good day works without any grief is my way now,but I do a decent day, half seven to half four.

been quite lucky for the last 5 or 6 years the 2 big sites iv been looking after are no more then 10-15mins away from home,
provided we win the next phases we will be on those till at least 2016.

i remember those fooking bags,, when i left school and started working with my father i was nearly lifting my own weight every time i fifted one of them:-0

Na not to bad ,but you have to keep on your toes, but yoy can say that about most boozers, was a lot worse a few years back
Rarely enter a public house now, probably not been in one for a year or more, too used to door work which I stopped doing 3yrs back, like to relax in my house or a restaurant

out of interest, what meterage are u doing a day for your 12 bags? a 5 bags which 2 is doubling up is mental? you could probably do more just by putting it on tighter. itd be going on a lot quicker and flatter anyway

When ive got enough areas to cover those 12 bags will get me around 95-115 mtrs, i dont do that every day, my avarage meterage is about 70ish, i think thats about average for a spread on site work isnt it?

5 - 8 bags a day is average depending on the areas.

Any muppet (not calling you that) can bang on more and miss processes out, leaving inferior quality.

It depends whether you want to tell your grandkids about what a good job you did. Or whether you want to lie to them.

:glare:Im not a muppet or a liar, my work is top quality, i dont miss processes out, i was taught old school by old hats, i understand the materials i use and i have the confidence and experiance to do what i do, some people find laying on 5 bags a hard days graft, i personaly dont, i would expect comments like yours to come from somebody who done a weeks plastering course and thinks hes a plasterer, cant amagine one of those courses would teach you how to lay on more than 1 bag a set.:flapper:

12 bags should do about 150m2 . Sottie where you based
