Regardless of what I think of a product, it needs to be extensively tested. Imagine BG giving you 1 bag of a new product to trial. Or ox giving you a 300mm speedskim.
But you want people to try it on plasterboard. Overskim, pva'd bonding, artex etc. Not just 1 window. Stop being tight. People testing it properly will either make or break your product
Now you see. The price you pay for a plasterer not only includes their time to do the job. But also their experience and knowledge. That should never be given away for free.
Nonsense. That work is substandard. Even a half decent plasterer would tell you that.
How he fixes his bead is irrelevant and his terrible skimming is nothing to do with your tape. I would suggest giving some to someone well respected on here. Such as olican for example. His work is second to...
It's very rare I come across a substrate I cant either nail or staple too. On the rare occasion it happens. I could probably scrim them on. But i stick them on with a bit of finish, how often do we throw away a handboard full of finish. That would stick any necessary beads.
Next time I can't...
I was about to nail it on and thought I'd try it out of curiosity. I still nailed it, however I'm confident a length of scrim all the way down each wing would have been enough to hold it
So why is this any different to someone taping a bead on with scrim? Not that I believe it's a good job. But I have seen spreads doing that years ago and the scrim is already on the job and, I imagine, cheaper.
Use 30mm pir board. Stick them tight back and by the time you've hacked off the old plaster you'll be fine. If not, add a 20mm knock on to the window when you change it
Nothing against them what so ever mate. But in 20 odd years of plastering I have never seen a decent trowel with a short shank. Too much flex and they chatter. I can only speak from experience.
It's going to chatter like a tramps teeth in winter that is with a shank that short And yet another person having to spend time getting a ready to use trowel ready to use

Like a stop bead but with a uniform channel. 10-15mm I think. In my opinion it looks smart. I've done whole houses with them around windows, doors etc. No arcitraves or skirt whatsoever
shadow gap bead is the way to do these. Smart as. They're just a pain to find. Next best thing is what naths done. Bonding up to it is a bit rough to be honest.
