making the transition from plastering to rendering!

Just down the road from here did walls surrounding a skimming pool in a monocouche type render about 1990, the apartments finished with a product called snowcem, great product to make dough on. Sent from my HUAWEI G6-L11 using Tapatalk

making the transition from plastering to rendering!

Might be different on very large builds, over here you tend to do both all the time with very few specialist, what I have noticed is the fall of in colored render since the boom years, much of it looks s**t five years on and I don't have any confidence in its suitability to our wet cloudy...

    Dot/Dab to cover cavity?

What I've done in my own place was to screw tape and joint stop bead on its edge to the window itself and just dap corner, this prevents any bridge and ensures reveal is parallel, a bead of silicon under it while applying gives good airtightness. Sent from my HUAWEI G6-L11 using Tapatalk

You'd be surprised at the price of tripple glazing man, I got 19 plus a front and back door for seven grand back in 2010, Munster Joinery but so far so good, we are heating 2,500sqft for about 200euros per annum in oil, plus about a bag and half of coal a week in winter, Solar heating H20 in...

Thing is Carl, every plasterer needs to be a pretty hot labourer also, after all he needs to understand all the mixing process Int and ext, scaffolding and most of all cleaning and preparing, if you don't know how these are done proper and fast how can ever train your own labourer, labouring is...

23 year old Looking to learn the trade badly

At your age best way to get experience is in a 1+1 gang, mixing for a spread and then catching your own small areas as well as trowelling beading cleaning etc. Working for free is a no go as far as I am concerned. Always concentrate on giving your employer value for money goes much better in my...

    eze spat! what size

This might also sound thick but all the footage I've seen using these spatz/edges the guys are flattening in or maybe first trowelling, as it picks up do you give it a splash of h2o to prevent lifting or is it unnecessary, looks great for big ceilings and panels can you bring up a top class...

    Float

I straighten like that internally, ceiling angle first then corners and last skiting and up through, darbying with the edge to finish, what I described earlier was for external S&C ,I find the lath much better outside as leaves it more open , the sawing action of lath really cuts through the...

    Float

How are you ruling it K? With S&C I give it loads of lath preferably a good straight 1x1.5 maybe 4ft long, first up and down and then lightly across always with a light sawing action of lath. I find concreting doesn't get them how I like, also if you find too smooth pull them across the edge of...

    Mixing bonding and hardwall ?

You can always just add a couple of fist fulls to each bucket, you will only notice when you go to flatten it in as it will close better. Not as nice to float though as gets a bit sticky. Sent from my HUAWEI G6-L11 using Tapatalk

Does my wall have damp? (Photos)

Your just gona wreck your head putting a critical light on it , if you can't live with it get a small bucket of sheetrock , profin or other premixed jointing finish put a light tight coat over any misses, holes, trowell lines etc. and sand back to smooth when completely dry with p120 sand...

    Damp proofing job london

Flat wall for tiling by skimming?

10mm is not a big deal, I'd be sweetening my tiler with a bottle of whisky and have him feather them out free hand, tricky/slow but much handier and cheaper/faster than hacking, bonding will eventually blow . Sent from my HUAWEI G6-L11 using Tapatalk
