    Maybe condensation. With the damp plaster there is lots of moisture absorbed and condensation forming on the cold pipes. Give it time to dry out. Hopefully it will disappear

    I've patched up a few with blown areas but its better to get the lot off. Seal Skim Surface adhesion and how solid it is needs to be tested before skimming to avoid this trouble

    Don't fully seal until dry. Product needs to harden by drying to create a seal. i would seal. 24 inch fan to dry off quicker. Another coat and when tacky skim. One thing though. I don't think plaster sticks better when tacky Vs dry. Watch the the test on YouTube

    Use easyfill 20. Start with a smooth sealed surface. Scraper or trowel to pattern. Old plaster or old english plaster is the pattern. That's what I called it. Think some called it Spanish troweled...see it on the outside of villas

    No dpm under fire place concrete because of heat. Think I'd dampen down. Apply cement and water with a splash of pva in to create a bond. Give it an hour then a bag of leveling screed

    Get a summer fan in there to move air about. Keep it going as much as possible. Open window a bit when the weather is dry. Air movement is better than heat. Thick plaster and closed room causing drying issues maybe.

    Buy rolls or mesh. Skim and cover walls with mesh. Probably sand and cement over blocks then skimmed. Movement causes the sand and cement to shatter.

    Wallpapers used to have asbestos in. They say anything after 1980s will be fine but prior to that who knows. I must of striped wallpaper with asbestos in at some point because of the amount I striped off over the years. Not something you see mentioned or tested.

    Bonding won't stick to some emulsions. Got a theory it's durable emulsions with the smooth surface. Odd though when it fails as sticks to everything you don't want it to like glass of gloss woodwork. I apply PVA first and so far no problems

    Yeah. Mostly. Depends on distance to job. Size. Thickness and Condition ect. Seen many skimmed artex ceilings where it looks like someone has struggled. Whatever works for you I guess. If you can get it done with no problems in one trip then great.

    Because artex can go soft when sealers are applied over, it's definitely better to seal day before imo. I also dig paper tapes out as they can come off when plastering. Knock nibs off. Dig tapes out ( not often) Seal. Tape. Seal over tapes and leave to dry overnight. Pva and skim.

    406 is a polymer emulsion. So its like a waterproof PVA but thinner and better penetrating the surface and binding it together. Will seal so when dry apply a watered down PVA and when sticky skim. Now go Google the word penetrating

    Grit fail

    I always pva grit 3-1 ish however I'm not a fan of it. Prefer a polymer without the grit then pva over that. Never had a single fail yet fingers crossed. I hate applying grit
