What’s the best way of plastering inside of exterior wall of house, standard brick with cavity? There’s not enough room to batten and board and I’ve been told dot dab is no, no in this scenario.

Is browning or hardwall ok for this application, skimming with multi finish?

I’ve no idea why you’ve been told dot & dab is a no no! Nothing wrong with it or with float & set using hardwall. All depends on what you want.

Safe bet is insulated plasterboard stuck on with foam.
