    Advice on speed skim

I agree I would say people have but those who others would view as rich majority of the time gain their riches through exploitation. We live in a world where in business the main goal is profit. Whilst that is the main aim well always have people exploiting others. I'm sure many would agree...

    Advice regarding damp ceiling

Can only relay the message. To date I've not had any grow on my bathroom ceiling and it's like a wet room when everyone has one shower after another. Walls are left dripping and ceiling used to be black.

    Advice on speed skim

Hence why I'm asking the questions. When it comes to skimming I have never been taught anything other than my time at college which is about finish more than quantity and getting my tops down when doing a meter high. I'm not an experienced plasterer by any stretch most of my working week is...

    Advice on speed skim

If I asked you to programme a kodi streaming box could you do it so It can stream any show from the Internet anytime. Maybe not if you've had no experience with doing it, yet, it isn't rocket science. I haven't done alot of skimming I understand it isn't rocket science but I would prefer to...

    Advice regarding damp ceiling

Scientifically speaking I've been told it is impossible for black mould to grow on Anticon. So in terms of black mould yes it stops the growth but doesn't solve the problem As for hidden mould. We need the hidden paint to mask that. Not quite sure where to obtain it though as you have to buy...

    rant alert

Our reviews speak for them selves the business set up we have is extremely different. Albeit in the so called grey area of damp proofing and the dredded"rising damp" haha Need to get on here more and get connected. We have that much work on I can't find anyone to come on board with us.

If a customer wants an independent report doing then we cannot offer our services for the work else then it isn't independent. We adopted this approach recently because we have months and months of work booked in and I cannot find people who want to come on board and work with us. We still have...

    Advice on speed skim

I'm from Leicester but my company covers the Midland ( Currently) so travelling isn't a problem for me at all. That would be great if you wouldn't mind. More than happy to come see a demo, I think once I've seen how to use it properly in person I'd be ok. Ive seen one demo before but the guy...

Haha fair point. I would just rather not bother if it isn't going to help me. Which saves me time more than anything. Wasn't coming at it from a costs perspective.

    Advice on speed skim

I've been told rolling mix's would suit me better the only issue is I'm the only plasterer on my firm. Looking to expand but too many bad habits with most of the people I've tried out. Got no one to show me the ropes of you get me.

    Advice on speed skim

I like to think I'm a competent plasterer. 8 years under my belt and I've only just turned 24. Skimming isn't a problem for me, one wall or one wall and a fireplace is something I'm more than comfortable with but as I stay I've not had to throw walls on behind and the guy who taught me...

Independent route might be the one if you like the surveying and doing the reports. We do independent surveyor reports but if we do we don't under any circumstances complete the work.

Hey all, Looking for a little bit of advice on skimming. I run a small damp proofing company in the Midlands. You get those who know what they're doing And you have those who say rising damp is 6' high. If your true your doing your bit that's all that can be done. The amount of surveys I've gone on and people have had quotes in excess of 4,5,6K and all that was needed was a half decent P.I.V...

    Advice regarding damp ceiling

Probs done now but fix leak is first Replace contaminated plasterboard. Use Dentolite to kill any remaining spores on the old plasterboard. As suggested above probs best to overboard and skim. Once dried pain using Anticon paint. We offer lifetime guarantees against mould growth on Anticon...

    Advice with tanking a basement

Sovereigns K11 tanking system. Follow the specification to the letter and you will have no issues. Can only go off what I have used personally and this method hasn't let me down yet. Membrane is also a more than trustworthy system my choice is just personal preference.

One year on Zombie your not wrong mate. I've work booked in until August 2017 with no sign of it slowing down. Can't find anyone to come work for us in order to take more work on. Nice position to be in but frustrating telling people in January we can't fit them in until August

Went to Look At A Damp Job Today....

I've not read through the comments on this but my first advice would be get the plaster off and skirting's. Let the wall breathe. then get dehumidifiers and heaters on the job. You could potentially treat this now if it was needed to be flipped quickly but if time is no issue then don't rush...

    Damp outhouse

I can't believe no one has advised tanking. If it was my "she'd" I would treat for rising damp ( on the basis that I assume it is an old building built from brick ) then apply tanking the the interior walls, then apply renderlite to the walls.

    Damp patch

Not read through all this but it looks to me from the picture to be some kind of leak. If that is the top of the wall It isn't rising damp. Hard to say with 1 photo.
