Hi guys am thinking of working abroad I have meet a few people on site who said Amsterdam Netherlands would be a good place does anyone have any contacts out there cheers

You won't get much work done in Amsterdam, too many distractions.

This is Hans he has some kind of gardening work available.
if you want to work on sites in the Netherlands you will have to work for one of the major plastering contractors. if you are not a Dutch national then you will have to be employed by an agency. the dutch workforce are all direct employed. to make a dutch worker redundant he has to be giver 5 years notice. most dutch spend their whole working life with the same employer. 5 weeks paid holiday and every worker has a firms van and a g4 machine, but it is lonely as you work on your own most of the time.
most dutch go to uni. and do not want to do construction work. they do not to speak to you in english although they all can they want you to learn dutch.
tax is heavy about 44%. if a worker does not pay the tax the company is charged.
the best set up is to have the extra dutch wages and an address in a low tax country so you only pay your local rate.
most of the time we work in Netherlands we are in Rotterdam which has a high growth rate and only a half hours drive to the hook of holland ferry. we are only a 20 minutes drive to Harwich dock so not to difficult.
once you settle there the plastering is enjoyable, not hard work with their self finishing plasterers, and perfect blockwork. insurance to pay you a basic wage in bad weather or if you get injured.
there is a large black market for cash workers at weekend with customers trying to get a good deal.

Cheers for all information mate what would be the best way to advertise to work on the black market or do you have any agencies you can recommend and I don't suppose your looking for any extra staff even temporary

I had my stag do in Amsterdam - there's a lovely cafe to visit, goes by the name 'Cafe Nasty', and just up the lane is a lovely lady named 'big Bertha' - 'you can do any hole' she kept offering, not to upset her I enquired if my best man and I could s**t in her mouth - she wasn't up for that as she told me in no uncertain way......what a prude! Memories lol

you need to be working in the Netherlands and after a couple of weeks you will be approached to do work on the side, usually by the woman of the house. they prefer uk labour as they finish the work, they call the dutch man useless as he is always in so much hurry he never completes the work , he is "going to come back later" and you never see him again.
we only fill in slack times in Europe, been to busy locally. it does cost you extra as you are running 2 bases.
there are a lot of bank holidays in the Netherlands so you often can not work on a Monday.
if they refer to holland they mean the very north area which has been reclaimed from the sea.
extra labour may be needed in the spring and spring comes late as the land is so flat and cold.

Alright ok cheers mate I have plenty of references website and Facebook page am getting in touch with a few agencies is there any chance of me working along side you for a little bit to pick up how you work over here by any chance cheers
we have no contracts in the Netherlands at this time.
the main work is ewi or internals. the plaster is gips ,"knauf" base coat, skim is sigma self finishing ready mixed plaster, you only need to be shown once how to use this. ask the plasterer 'stuckador' what he wants you to do. and he will show you.
ewi base coat is applied thicker then we do in uk. they like a good coat on top of the scrim. but they will show you.
we rendered a house in sand cement and poly balls just rule off said what next? he answered that is good, they just spray painted it so thick it covered every thing.

Ok thank you very much mate this has been very helpful I can research them materials and read the literature and find a few videos just saw I have a better understanding when some one shows me what to do

if you live in the Netherlands you will pay 44% TAX, for uk residents you can pay the tax over here at a much lower rate. but you have the upkeep of a home in uk and bed and breakfast in Netherlands.
most people rent on the continent, if you are able to rent a flat it will be very low rent, but under dutch law it is yours for life and you can not be evicted even if you never make any payment. so most of the time the flats are left empty.
i do not know how plastering compares to other trades, but there is and agreed rate of pay for both housing and extra for commercial works. the choice the customer has is the starting date, non of this stupid british idea that another company can do the work cheaper.
no 110v tools, 240v only. 110v is considered to dangerous as it will hold you on the current, 240v will throw you off the current. hard hats are not required on site.

Yea he went out there got in with some dodgy plastering company got ripped big time..kidnapped & bummed by the Dutch mafia..I think he got a cleaning job in the red light district working for the ladies of the night..that was the last I heard of the poor bloke
everyone in the Netherlands can speak english. when i am working in Netherlands you soon pick the lingo up.
the dutch call the northern area that was reclaimed from the sea 'Holland' the rest of the country is the Netherlands.
