Some boarded mf walls were so bad I had to reboard and re skim , they’d left the tapered edge board in the rain , then fitted them , then skimmed but the boards were falling into the wall

The brag was £400 a day / £75k a year.
im not annoyed because I know nobody is earning £400 a day Plastering. I think most are averaging what I earn a day. I talk to real life plasterers regular so I’m fully aware what the rates are.
Your rong way off, I pay my sub 250 and let him go at 3 as he is doing me a favour, he is pulling in double on his own jobs

Well the original brag was 52x250/300. Now all of a sudden it’s changing to 40 :)

12 weeks off a year. Alright for some :)

I think this old argument about why shouldn’tplasterers earn what electricians do is the fact you need less tools, less knowledge, less qualifications (none really) electricians are regulated by a body, plasterers aren’t so anyone can plaster at anytime (builders/bathroomfitters/decorators/handymen) they can all do their own plastering if they like.
Plumbing is similar. They are needed in emergencies, their work could cause serious damage if done in correctly or in cases of gas lives put at risk.

Personally I don't know how lads work for less if your wife doesn't work...or maybe works part time, you have a couple of kids, a family holiday a year, a business to run and all overheads, a mortgage and all bills to pay...under 50K a year....no chance. 50K will be a struggle in the South.

Some lads charge £150 a day...they are living in la la land if they think they will get a mortgage. I struggled getting a mortgage charging £200 a day and that was 6 years ago.

Doesn't matter what trade you are in you are running a business with overheads. Plumbers and electricians can earn higher doing specialist work but your standard domestic electrician Part P in 8 weeks is no different.

With the costs of everything going up...most of us are touching on VAT...that is the next hurdle, they need to raise the threshold.
