Blue grit

I’ve been plastering for about 25 years and have only used blue grit internally a few times as tend to use pva. Could someone please tell me if blue grit can be used externally on original smooth render as a key for new render normally I would remove old render but not in customer’s price range. Thanks

Both products you mention are not to be used for external render ….Sounds like @ customer can not afford a real job ..& will need renderer to advise…

However most likely @ customer can only afford a scraper & masonry paint …

I would use Parex Parinter as the key on the render, this works on painted render as well. Finished with a thin coat render system. Not sand and cement.

Try Bond It exterior pre grit. Can be used as long as the current surface/render is sound, not flaking and well adhered to the wall.

Off topic but I always used bluegrit over chipboard flooring prior to tiling.
