Builders trying to bum you!

NPS - I do a days work.. two sets, sit down for a bit of lunch, nice steady day, 8am - 3/4pm, however some days you do more and some days you do less depending on how the jobs go! Ive had very easy days for builders and still took £150 cos its still a days money.. I dont work for half days unless it literally is a couple of hours work, anything over 12pm I want £150! and like I said, works the other way round, for example, a two man ceiling, I price it for £300 + materials, we both finish by 12pm.. I still pay my other spread £150..

Treat people fairly, and they treat you fairly, (not all do obviously as a lot of people are greedy *****) but Ill never turn into a **** just cos other people are! Its about time people looked after one another and stopped shitting on people just to climb the ladder a little more, life would be a lot better all round, people say it dont work in business but it does.. if you find the right people! the Spreads I use/work for are safe as houses and we all help eachother out where needed, and the builders are fair providing you do a good job.
 
i agree mate if its over 12 its a full days pay, if i get like you say a couple of hours ill push them to a friday.
£300 + mats for a ceiling and both be done at 12 is a bit steep though, but if you get away with it crack on
 
its not a steep price if its a big ceilin which would be the only reason youd need a second spread:RpS_wink:
 
Exactly.. its all about percieved value, if a customer thinks getting there shitty ceiling to a perfectly flat finish is worth less than £300 then they can go **** emselves too.. they seem to think its ok to pay a Corgi registered thief £500 a day to re fit a ******* boiler.
 
But the "gas safe/corgi" engineers are qualified and educated.....we are just dumb fu.cks with strong arms.....any Polak could do the same at half the price.:rolleyes)
 
lads ill tell you i didnt do any plastering for 6 months after 35 years straight,went and did a lounge no ceiling and i would of normally pissed it by 3pm which i did the next aduy when i crawled to my van.

morale is even an easy job is very demanding most of these people would get tired watching you

Customer of job Im on at the minute was watching me and said "its an art that!" .. I replied "its nice to be appreciated, you'd be suprised how few people actually do" ..

Some people with their head screwed on do appreciate what we do, but more than that think we are just thick as s**t and no worth **** all.
