I still think their having you on Casper, they gave it you in multi finish bags!!
:-0
Hope it's not on the floor when you go back :RpS_unsure:

Na bubbles. I've got 2 bags of the shite on a ceiling with no PVA so there will be fcukin hell to pay if it fails. I promise ya marra

So how does a wet plaster go onto bare Artex without the Artex re-emulsifying? I'm puzzled. Even a stabilizer softens Artex until it's dried.

The whole idea of this sounds like a waste of time for tradesmen.just trying to cash in on people giving it a go on their own trying to save money on a plasterer.oh well, more work for us putting it right:RpS_thumbsup:

well for the price thier selling it at then once its out we can only risk it in peoples houses potentialy costing us to redo what could be wnak, so im goin to go from your review and im afraid im out

have you seen my wardrobe??? the skirts quite fetching actually

as andy had said about the artex re-emulsifying and i said the other day skimming it over silk and the likes wheres the key for this "no prep" plaster itll just be fcuking plaster shelling off of a shiney purpose.
still on the upside should get alot of work correcting all the **** ups:RpS_thumbup:

Well when i say raw/bare i mean it was painted once with mat emulsion and then scraped back for me to plaster....but yeah, it was a very high suction surface.

That's what I find strange. That it'll suck into bare Artex quick and yet not bubble or re-emulsify it.
I only do re-skims once it a blue moon nowadays so either way it's not of any great interest to me but when I do next have to re-skim I'll be using either Blue Grit, Thistle Bond It or WBA as usual, as I know and trust these products.

You prize plonker uni in multi bags :RpS_lol: have you never never had a wiff of both products they smell different:RpS_thumbsup: and uni is not pink mate , thats got you thinking:flapper:

Henry, pay attention FFS lol its only packaged in multi bags because its not for sale yet. :rolleyes)

Anyway, back on topic. George the BG rep (he's not a pleb, sorry G) called me today to enquire how i got on with the uni. I gave him the truth. He also asked if it was a product i would use. Again, i was honest and told him ONLY if it was a lot cheaper and that, in my opinion, not very many plasterers would buy it at nearly £9 a bag.

Oh, and BG are reading the forum so lets see if they're prepared to take any comments on board. :RpS_cool:

its a bit odd that they haven't got the uni bags yet but its meant to be on sale in October which starts Monday :glare:, @bg it wont sell much at a tenner a bag (it costs less than that to pva once you brake it down), where's the key for shiny surfaces????, come on bg sign in and speak to us dnt just lurk, how are we meant to trust using ya new product, that might not work out with absolutely no info from the guys making it, its goin to cost us if it fails on afore mentiond shiny surfaces and all i can say to the client is well bg wouldnt tell me anything so i took a chance in your home...........that wnt be happening ill be sticking to grit and multi, unless i know more

Ah i see, Knobby. That explains everything. I hope you're not busting your balls plastering for hours with Unifinish.

I hate smart mouthed comments. Most of us PLASTERERS have earned the right to voice our opinions through years of hard graft! As the saying goes....There's NO substitute for experience and i've got fukin plenty

spoke to the BG rep for the toon area today and he says im the first person up here to complain about the multi-finish...........WTF............and he couldnt give me a price for the uni-finish.............:RpS_confused:

Of course he has!

should he not be promoting his nuts instead casper where is the report

Thing is with uni, its all brand new so what if it fails? What if you skim someones bedroom then it re-emulsifies over the artex and all falls off weeks later?

Whos reputation will be ruined? Not BG's.

Well. i've used it on a builders ceiling. I do lots of work for him. I told him before i started what i was useing and he said he'd be straight onto BG if it failed. I also told him that i'd re plaster it if it fell on the floor. So potentially ive set myself up for a an expensive 2 days work for nothing.

exactly its our necks and pockets on the line and they wnt even speak to us openly about this product, they just expect us to pay loads for this new and unknown product. they just hide away lurking in the dark
