hi does anybody else chalk out scrim before plastering ,i find it stops you catching it and ripping it off ,its happened to all of us what are your thoughts

ONLY IF I AN ONE COATING, BIT THAT IS ONLY TO GET A LEVEL SURFACE ON TAPERED BOARDS, WHEN IT COMES TO PULLING SKRIM OFF, I JUST GO GENTLE IN THE ANGLES ;)

no just use the finis plaster and give it a tight coat all over the scrims first.

Always if its on tapered boards.
Sometimes over normal boards on ceilings just to save them snaggin, depends

Dont you just love it when scrim on a twisted joist shows thrugh right on the final trowel

Thats my f*ckin favourite that it

No never do only if the scrim has lost its stick, was fed up of coating the joints when i was using the jute scrim years ago.

some tackers i no leave the thicknes of a nail between boards so the plaster can wind up in it,bit old dated now i think.

My opinion (and I'm allways right about everything ever!)

Is they are brilliant.............................. for about 10% of plasterers!

They are perfect for lads on big places where they have pallets of boards all the time.

But for most people, they will be doing extensions or a house or apartments/flats where the boards arnt in a central place laid flat, there is like 10 boards in one room 8 in another etc.

I personally only do domestic and the most boarding I ever do is overboard a ceiling which can be max fourteen 6 by 3's.

So its a good idea and great tool but in limited situations

my brother uses one of them blade runners and i think they are poo, we had a race cutting boards and archways out of 12.5 board, he was fast..... but not fast enough. kirk and the stanly knife won every time ;D

bruce you wanna look at the delfin knife its the dogs mate, and it fits in your hand niceley.look it up ,i would put it on here but i dont no how yet.
