Damage to walls after windows installation

Hi all, wondering if I could get some advice on how to fix this mess. Basically it’s an old 1900 house with old (1970s?) plastering. I’ve recently had windows put in, and on removal of some old wooden rails around the window, the old plaster has had it. Looks like several layers of it, really deep in some places (6 inches into the wall).

I was going to fill the deep holes with mortar, patch up with bonding and then skim. I’ve done repair and skim work before but this is the most challenging thing I’ve looked at.

I’m really skint so can’t really afford a spreader unless it’s 100% required…so I’d appreciate your advice. Cheers.

Why did the window company leave you it that mess? Or was you daft enough to pay them on what they thought was completion?

Thanks for that. The damaged plaster was hidden by wallpaper.

Why not make it simple employ a plasterer

Yes mate I've used the Soudal Fix All. Plan to compact it then go in with bonding. Cheers.

Had the whole house done mate - it was SafeStyle...the guys who David Seaman has sold his soul to. Cost an arm and a leg. Can't really blame them for this though...since I've got the wood chip off the walls I can see the absolute shite job someone's done on plastering. Some grey stuff on top of old lath & plaster.

It both pro and help for DIY Mate. Go to Wickes, get a 12.5 bag of universal one coat, read the instructions on the bag , give the area a good soak with water and have a good old go yourself .

Thanks mate - I've gone with foam to fill the big gaps, and bonding to build it up a bit. Skimming tomorrow. Then probably phoning a spread to come and rip it out to do it properly.
