Damp spreading

Wot!!!!!!
Damp spreading

Lol the rules where in place well before you arrived, sorry, there is a reason we have these rules and that's because of a debate many years ago on here, regarding the tooth fairy, proving it doesn't exist, we all agreed it makes sense to prove something is there rather than prove its not. :)
What! The tooth fairy s not real, now I know your heads not right....:risas2:

so whats the verdict ? :muyenojado:
The verdict is simple mark, we have told you what s wrong but all you want to do is have the inside of your house done "plastered "without sorting the problem, waste of time my friend as you will just be pissing in the wind.

Rising damp is a myth in my opinion too it's might rise to a metre but any other cause that makes its way higher will be another issue.
I've been plastering behind a damp proof specialist for a few years and what we are constantly rectifying is injection dpc cream paste whatever the shite there using complete rip off merchants
Your lucky to get three years out of it.
We've been using pamties membrane when you think about logistics there's nothing is going to physically get through that barrier.
Dri coat itself probably does the cure for a couple of years if you're lucky.
These paste are supposed to spread along the the mortar but are not fully covering the mortar lines for it to work there's spaces within causing it to seep through.
I know there's a lot of insurance claims going through now we're over time the injection are disintegrating the brick and mortar.
As everyone's aware sand and cement takes a year to dry itself long enough to blag the next buyer..leaving to the seller to be gone before it coming back.
The system we use is backed by the the guy of rogue traders who specialises in dpc we have had no problems whatsoever using this the only one I'd tell people to use .. listed building to new builds this is the best system.
In your case the membrane would cover the whole wall then dot and Dab skim with multi finish.

The injection was free i used some gear they were selling on the streets round here ,came home and all the damp had gone room was moving up and down a bit

Dryzone? Be carefull mate there are a lot of people injecting this stuff and nothing is happening, it's the fresh air you want ;)

Alls well and turns out well hey, this Jeff Howell has a lot to answer to....fukin uni lecturer with a government funded grant trying to prove there was no rising damp...pffft.
I'll have one last word on this guys and I'll put it to bed!
Rising damp is a real thing as Iv said. True rising is very very rear but can be made worse by bringing etc,the problem is damp in domestic households has been misdiagnosed for many years leading to people to become sceptical about the whole idea of rising damp, then a supposed leading r.i.c.s building surveyor Jeff Howell came up with this.
Then you have many damp firms employing surveyors who will misdiagnose damp as they get a cut!turn it on its head for a sec, you have also got this leading figure making money out of the whole idea so what ever he says can't be taken for gospel either!!simple guys a little test get a roasting tit out ,half fill it with water, get a stock brick an old one maybe a reclaimed and put it in the tin and leave to marinate for a week and see what happens!! Wow it soaks up the water so what would we call it?
RISING DAMP!!!!! Until next time we discuss this xx .

is it worth putting a vent in ?? and i havent injected anything into the walls .....massive problems outside calling the council tomorrow to try and get the earth removed away from the cottage and there is a load of old foundation where a house was next to mine but is no longer there...a few were demolished years ago to make way for a road .noticed missing cement water been running down the wall a fkn nightmare ....but i will get it soughted out and then tackle the inside......NO i havent gone away :hueco:

ive been scrapping paint off this morning and you can see the old foundation right up close to the house where the flakes of paint are ......where the flakes of paint are is one of the damp areas .bearing in mind there use to be a house attached to mine years ago and that strip of land is council owned shouldnt they have cleared this away from my house to begin with ??

you can see the wall lumps of chalk and stone and in the middle are blocks where the old fire use to be but again before my time. Is this enough taking off

A vent can only aid you mark but me thinks if you sort all the out side you should be ok but you do have to sort it shapish .

In order to completely sort ur problem mark ,I would suggest you overhaul the gable end mate, re render ,remove the trees out of your gutter divert any water away from you house etc.
