And this people is the reason our trade is utterly f**k*d If you can call it a trade now with the amount of utter dross calling themselves EWI specialists
Shambles
My cheese cutter don't leave crap everywhereI invested in a saw from b@q and it was 6 quid done the exact same thing a cheese cutter does
I would just ignore the cocky bellendRemind me then how you learnt how to do it and become an expert in the field of EWI?
I think your getting me mixed up with someone else.
I've been plastering & rendering for 10 years now, I haven't just completed a 6 week course.
I've been rendering 7 months of the year solid the past 3years so the only thing I have no experience in is the boards and fixing, but being able to dri-line I have some idea and it's not a million miles away.
The fact that I'm offering a 10 year warranty with this work direct from Parex shows that it will be done at least a little better than you think.
I can't recall calling myself an EWI Specialist?
I can recall stating its my first job and asking for advice from people in the know, who have happily helped me. So that brings me to the conclusion your just some jumped up prick who feels threatened by my willingness to pick something up just like you did and probably get better than you at it.
I'd love to hear your reply please make my day?

why do your trade papers mean f..k all ? Aren't we suppose to offer advice to others on this forum.I love the fact your offering a parex Warranty
Imagine a system supplier offering you a bit of paper saying "well done it's been checked by somebody who knows f**k all about render and it's passed "
Mate I'm not having a go at you but it's s laugh you are asking how to fit boards after coating them for a years.
Better than me yeah could you could be but your the reason my trade papers mean f**k all now.
Do you have trade papers ?

The warranty means nothing to me, means everything to the customer, it's called business. Same as when you buy a car and you get a warranty, same as a tele, same as a boiler, same as a holiday etc etc.
Mate I'm not having a go at you but it's s laugh you are asking how to fit boards after coating them for a years.
Come again? I've never gone over or fitted them before so not a clue what your on about! Ewi is a new aspect of plastering/rendering and I do all aspects of plastering/rendering so I want to learn how to do it.
Better than me yeah could you could be but your the reason my trade papers mean f**k all now.
How is that then? If I'm better than you without having the trade papers you have must make me even more special?!
Do you have trade papers ?
I knew you ended up doing a cheap training course.Funnily enough I do and I'll tell you the truth. On paper I'm level 2 NVQ qualified at EWI.
How did I get that qualification you ask?
I got it by skimming a patch in a ceiling, courtesy of a company who are paid a nice bonus by the government to pass ANYONE!
Is this my fault? No.
Why would anyone turn down a free qualification?
As said this was my first job and I'm no expert, I want to learn and I've asked for advice, advice on how people PREFER to fix not how TO fix.
Getting a guide and asking how it's actually are different hence why I ask.
I will pick up tips and learn as I go.
Explain why is wrong if I'm doing it right?
Lastly EWI is no more than a gimmick that is not as specialist as you may think. From what I done I found it to be pretty straight forward and I was going over uneven stone work.
You still haven't mentioned how you LEART and became a 'specialist'in EWI? I would love to know. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
I'd love to know aswell how I'm 'f**k**g' 'your' trade up?
I still think your a prick aswell btw just so we're clear!

I've been plastering for years and had never fitted a board until 6 years ago
I had to ask somebody before I fitted them.
And I offer a PAREX guarentee with my work.
So does that make me a cowboy?
Could I ask you how you got you wealth of experiance and how did you serve your timeMate
I knew you ended up doing a cheap training course.
Mate it's Friday who gives a f**k.

the kids got a point, and i can't be arsed with another argument @Jgreenplastering if you want to take it down that route, lets just get that clear.
If you have any questions regarding an EWI system that your fitting to spec, here is not the place to ask, ring Parex and speak to your rep and ask him how he wants it fitting, it doesn't matter what anyone says on here, they aren't guaranteeing it
kind of similar to having a problem with your new ritmo, you have a problem and ask on here you will get multiple answers, ring Ian or Les they will tell you straight up and probably be right.
i have had questions when doing said works and have always found the manufacturers more than helpful when i didn't quite understand something, they want a good job as much as you do.
regarding the windows you should stay 300mm from any corner of any windows with any joints
Mate im not having a go at the guy but dont say its a gimmick when looking at his boarding if i was the rep for parex i would not guarantee f**k all he has done.
there is 3 major fails on his boarding i can see so far.
But what do i know
For a gimmick you have made a c**t of boarding round Windows and your rips are too small.
Mate 4 years roofing/roughcasting/plasterer its what we scots do for some reason.4 years [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
Christ you've just told me a few things I've done wrong which I now know how to over come on my next one. Thanks for the advice that's all I asked for in the first place.
It doesn't take 4years to learn those mistakes I made though surely.
The rendering aspect is a lot harder to learn in my opinion and that didn't take me
4 years.
I didn't know about the mistakes I've made but you now you told me I'll correct them
On the next job.
Anything else?
If this jobs fails within my guarantee I'll happily rectify at my costs. I price jobs to make profit not wages so when things go wrong I'll sort them. Doubt a lot of other will.
Like I said in the first place I'm no expert but I'll learn.

Many stress points you putting in a window mate ?Argument?
If you want to have your say expect a reply.
I've only ever asked for advice I never claimed to be an expert I made it clear was my first job.
As for reps, he's been out I've asked loads of questions and if they want to check it in stages. He's said he will visit and the end.
I've gone through the spec and there's no mention of what Marty has said I've done wrong hence why I've done it wrong.
I'm happy to hold my hands up, I'll put it right if it's cracks etc.
What I've asked from the start is not how to do things but how people who do the work prefer to do it! There's a difference.
I can guarantee most blokes wouldn't put pictures up here even if they knew they'd done stuff right. I'll post more pics of the finish tomorrow when I've scrapped it.

Mate 4 years roofing/roughcasting/plasterer its what we scots do for some reason.
24 years under my belt and it gets sore each year.
What im saying is dont ask on here advice half the c**ts on here have no clue what they are talking about ask the reps mate thats what they get paid for.
I was going to be weatherby rep for scotland but you dont have enough teeth to really make a difference
All the best with work mate but looking at they pics you have a while to go yet

Wetherby is shite and fails.
Do you still wrap blankets around your feet when your dashing.
mate rip old c**ts off fill your boots buy loads of drugs and ODYou created this whole argument on the misconception that I claimed to be a specialist asking how to do a job!!!
For the last time I asked how people PREFERRED to fix board not HOW to fix and I stated it was my FIRST job and I wasn't an EXPERT!
The reason I ask people for advice on here is because people on here do jobs day in day out have more experience and knowledge of day to day tasks and would know how to do things in a way that is acceptable and not cutting corners.
The reps have a guide/code to follow the applicators know the best/quickest way to do these.
