has anyone been knocked for payment before?

I don't give them a chance not to pay. They have to pay on day of completion.its on the quote. If I don't get paid that day . I text the next day . If you don't they leave it a week.

I have a strict ‘no asshole policy’, if they come across as an asshole, I fukc them off. I had one the other week, I priced the job and told him it’s a couple of days - he then ‘told me’, It’s one days work and I could put the ceiling on and both walls then in the afternoon pick up the other two walls and reveals (asshole I started to think).
Quick edit and addition, he said he had watched a plasterer on YouTube saying this…wtf!

A price is a price no matter how long it takes, it always amazes me that some wallys out there just don’t understand that!

hi all ive been plastering for a long time now and have always got my money but ive just done a job and the customer picked up faults here and there on my work and to be fair there were a few which i did put right(a bit of sanding here and there but nothing major) he said he would let me know how it all dries out and then discuss weather he was satisfied. I haven't heard a thing for 5 days and I have a bad feeling about it (had alarm bells when I looked at the job but gave him the benefit of the doubt). If I don't get paid, I will be in a situation that I've not experienced before and to be honest I don't want aggro or court involvement, etc. Part of me thinks I should just let it go and put it down to experience, but I wonder if contacting Mepco for advice might help me avoid this situation in the future. just wondering if anyone here has had a similar situation and if so what did you do?
It’s frustrating, but the best approach is to follow up with the customer. Politely ask if they’re satisfied with the work and if everything is drying out as expected. If they still don’t respond or make any effort to pay, then you may need to consider sending a more formal reminder and, if needed, exploring small claims court as a last resort. Keep your communication professional to avoid further complications.
