If I was you I'd do it in 2 halves,just stick some scrim down the middle and when you've finished pull it off and do the other side you wont even see the joint,that's if you're not confident to do it in one

Done that a few times and it works well

Use wickes bonding agent over it to give you some time and open the windows to get room cold. Eze spat would be good to trowel off.

I would do a "rolling set" before I waste money rolling WBA over an already low suction background.... if I cant roll teh ste then I would give a local spread a call and we would hit it

Never have I ever PVA/WBA's a plasterboard before...lol

if the plasterboard had been up a few months then maybe a quick coat of pva

but no one in there right mind would grit a fresh plasterboard

Well I got a tip from plasterer who have 25 years in trade - and works for me in warm room as ceiling is under flat roof (blazing sun)

All due respect mate but you know **** all. If anything a weak and I mean really weak pva would do. Or just lash it on. Buy a spat and pole and flatten it in a minute. Allows you to be a bit less tidy when scratching on your first coat @mikeadams1985

Go for it mate. Mix up a bucket normal consistency then straight away mix one up piss wet. By the time you've finished the first the second will be ready. Spat it. Wash em out. Mix 1 bucket. Lay it in. Spat. Wash out. Trowel up.

Ha no. Haven't done it wanted to get all the kitchen boarded out before I did the ceiling.
Had a beam and some alcoves and **** to board so got it all done and only just sat down with a Heineken in hand. Gonna do it Monday now. Me grandads coming round to do some sand cement where the damp was so if I do the ceiling tommorrow he will only take over and do it himself. Can't let him do that he's about 80! Wouldn't let me help him when he did the ceiling in the lounge so not gonna start it tommorrow
