hi, just looking to get an opinion on the cost of a rendering job before giving the go ahead to the job as I have no idea if this high, low or cheap as chips.

3-Bed Semi detached in South Wales, cost of scaffolding, removal of blown sand and cement render, cost of skips, installation of parex render. Size of job 115m2 £8750

Thanks

dirt cheap. before you accept the quote ask to have a look at a similar rendered contract.
you may have just found your self a monkeys pratt.

Agree with Malcolm check out the previous jobs I seen a painter and decorater rendering a ok Ish small sized property, it’s absolutely horrendous work they did , my mate quoted to render it he’s been at it nearly 30 years and peed off that they wrecked the customers house

thing is nowadays anyone will literally quote for anything as sone of them are absolutely desperate they have no shame either

Not often I don't ask for a deposit up front. Legally anything you have delivered to site becomes the property of the owner - friend got very expensively stitched like this. - and not recoverable. (= burglary/theft)

Only had one refusal, - offered to pay me cash on the day if I turned up and he could see the materials in the van. I agreed to that but eventually the job was a no go because it was more work/cost than he expected.
Decent guy, not a cheapskate just didn'tunderstand what was involved.

There's always someone who's doing s**t for s**t money. I'm Polish and I really price myself, simply want to earn good money and I hate undercutting. Few weeks ago I had a other plastering company asking me if I can give them a hand as they got s**t loads on. I had a gap in my calendar of 3 days to I thought ill give them a hand. Then they sending me a photos of the job and its a job I priced up few days before them. They were English and just shows that some people got different views on pricing up...

Well they would have if they are underpricing, and shouldn't have bid if they didn't have the resources to do the job. Did you give them your price for doing it?

I didn't bother. They offered me different job to do instead as i said it would be really awkward with customer, and when I mentioned my day rate as this is how they wanted to pay me they offered me £170 cash which I refused to do for as its way below my rate (if I do day work), there's no way in hell I'm gonna work for that money.

Expensive Poles getting all the cream.

Nothing worse than a tyre kicker who’s only fishing for the lowest price then moan that the job they’ve had done is shite, I dumped a bloke today cus the t**t asked me to lower my price 3 times he was an engineer complete a55hole, had a Range Rover, Porsche, and D-max on the drive the cunnt had a F*****g Aston Martin in the garage and was trying to squeeze me for £625 the job was only £5625

Another engineer should be ringing you:ROFLMAO:

I had a really big job last year something I was relying on really took up a big gap in my calendar 35k when I was a week away from starting I called down site and there was other blokes already doing it he couldn't even f****** ring.
Sounds like you dodged a bullit there. Look at it from the other way, if that’s the sort of fella your dealing with and the morals he has, how’d you know he wouldn’t be a nightmare to work for and get paid from etc.

more quotes and go and see their work and not just once different times of the day if you can

Worked for a few engineers, all talk about working to a thousand of a millimeter,.
Told them all the same. the plastering has a tighter tolerance than that, it's got to be cock-on.
