I don’t work on site anymore, to much health and safety plus s**t little cards you need which mean f**k all, I let my card run out which I got on grandfather rights it cost sixty quid for a silly health and safety course, a day off for the course and letters from firms that had used my exceptional skills, it didn't matter that I had plastered the stairwell in the controll tower at the Channel Tunnel for the dubious pleasure of which I had to go on a two day health and safety course. That’s enough griping for todayWhich site are you on?
iwas told I could get a card years ago under the grandfather rights told em to stuff it its all all a load of b*ll***s the old 714 system worked ok and was freeI don’t work on site anymore, to much health and safety plus s**t little cards you need which mean f**k all, I let my card run out which I got on grandfather rights it cost sixty quid for a silly health and safety course, a day off for the course and letters from firms that had used my exceptional skills, it didn't matter that I had plastered the stairwell in the controll tower at the Channel Tunnel for the dubious pleasure of which I had to go on a two day health and safety course. It was a way of getting the card because you had been a plasterer for years, the days when people realised you didn’t need qualifications to do the job you say you can, if you couldn’t they just flicked you off after an hour or so, happy timesWhats the Grandfather rights ? Simpler times .It was a way of getting the card because you had been a plasterer for years, the days when people realised you didn’t need qualifications to do the job you say you can, if you couldn’t they just flicked you off after an hour or so, happy times
ithink they call it the construction industry scheme without it u cant get site work it was to stop cowboys getting work but just another way for big brother to keep tabs on uWhats the Grandfather rights ? Remember the 714, that was late eighties for me.
To right, the 714 worked just fine, to get a 714 I had to provide my C&G papers and at least 3 years work history which I could prove through my apprenticeship.iwas told I could get a card years ago under the grandfather rights told em to stuff it its all all a load of b*ll***s the old 714 system worked ok and was free
Ah I see, been own my own since 92 so missed all that fun.ithink they call it the construction industry scheme without it u cant get site work it was to stop cowboys getting work but just another way for big brother to keep tabs on u
They have been products in recent years launch, then fail. That tape really don't know, but I can staple quicker than that, and then less hassle removing staples If out of line. Uni finish I liked, had 1 fail with it, compensated. I see bq launch quick dry bonding, I think it will fail. Too expensive, also I can set bonding in any time I want. Bq no tape filler tried, it failed as many said on this forum. I'm hearing it is to be discontinued. Point to this post is manufacturers don't ask us guys what we would like. I have also had easifill blow off painted surfaces. Only use toupret now expensive.confidence in some of these products are low even if you follow spec, which I read and follow.

I flash set it on artex ceilings lurpakI like bonding 60. We all know how to flash set normal bonding but that’s only good/safe for patching imo. Know where you are with 60 and can cover artex lids with it then skim straight away etc.
I prefer mrs jones artex ceilings. All I need is my handsome young buck card

Hydrated lime, a scraper full in say 7.5ltrs before adding bonding can set it in 20mins or so the more the quicker, adjust depending on bucket size and how quick you can get it on.Rapid set cement or dirty water? Or something else?
I find dirty water flash it in 5 mins

I'm like yourself a artex specialist. Lol. It takes a while to get used to, but perserver and you can bang thick patterns bonded quickly. You will never need bonding 60. 90% of artex ceilings I use bonding first rather than pissing about with finish plaster that loads do.Heard this before but never tried, will give it a blast cheers

handful of cement dose the sameHaha . My preferred method is bit of bonding n skim to cover it. Let it go in then fresh mix skim very wet n put 2 really tight coats on one after the other. Pulls in quick too n cheaper than using pure bonding.
I do sometimes use bonding only to cover it all depends . Deffo gonna try lime tho
