Can't compare Parex to KREND, When KRend is applied correctly it is probably the best looking scratch render on the market. If your pumping the Silicone will go through your machine great, I knw a guy that uses a ritmo and the results are great.
 
cant compare krend to parex. krend is sh1t go back to a house after 5 years and krend look's 20 years old

give me parex any day of the week
 
When you use gf you wonder why they don't just make monorex as that finish as standard. It's nicer looking IMO. Water settings are different though I seem to remember
 
Sprayed the GF today and it was a nitemare, it sprayed nice and wet but skinned up horrendously quick and tore after 5 minutes from being applied. Is this usual for this gear as the plain Monorex is great to work with ?.
 
need a little help guys,

looked at a render job earlier to be k rendered but its over old flat s/c render...... whats the best application here!? 1 coat system?? or 2 coat using a base k rend then the top coat etc....

iv not done LOADS of k rend but what i have done was over new block work with 2 coat and mesh then top coat....

some help be appriciated. :)

the s/c is fairly new too and solid, if that helps.
 
I used to only like weber because I knew we're I was with it I still use it 70% of the time but I must say that Parex gf is lovely to spray lovely to rub up and looks really nice if u hit it right
k rend is just **** u can't bead up with it it sprays very badly and I can never seem to hit it right to soft on same day and rock solid on next day scrape give me Parex or weber any day
parex seems to spray better through my g4 the g4 seems to struggle a bit with weber were as a diesel machine chucks it on,the chalk white seems the worst but Parex in my g4 sprays a treat
i think the key with most renders is to spray hard and fast then u should be ok.
 
hmm interesting.

is the parex and weber still the same to apply? just troubles achieving same standard of finish and not as nice to rub up the krend then?

if so i may ask the builder to go down that route of the better product!...

can you still same day scrape with Parex ? i only use Weber ,and always same day scrape ,not saying it the right way ,but it,s what i am happy with doing
 
I have done a lot of work with k-rend, monocouche, pro-rend. Have yet to use Parex. We hand apply, does it handle the same as others? I have a job to price and the client is asking for alternatives to k-rend. As he is supplying I have suggested that he shops around
 
Hey keith
parex is always next day scrape this time of year ,were still doing next day with weber but same day is so much better I just feel its a bit cold at the moment I make sure I have new short tooth scratchers it really helps.
 
Not used Parex but SPS Envirowall (Cantilana?) is the best I have sprayed, followed by SAS. Weber's Chalk was ok but the Ivory seemed raw in comparison.

Weber I have fell out with but at least in summer it is a same day scrape. The German stuff is unpredictable with setting. In summer it is a late spray and next morning scrape. Go home for a few hours and back in late to spray. Tried only once to spray in the morning and work late. Still scraping back when it was going dark. To risky.

God mate,if your used to handballing K rend you will think your in heaven applying Parex.Its a fuller/creamier and far more user friendly than the Irish stuff.
 
SPS Envirowall's Granicem L is nice to spray but not so easy to hand ball. It's to much like bubblygum. Weber is easier to handball but not as nice to spray.

if you mix krend a bit thicker for longer its alright, we were half mixing it in a mixer then leaving it to settle for 10 mins then whisking it for a good 5 mins labour intensive but its like spreading hardwall
 
We sprayed 500m2 of k rend E grade last year and hated every min of it.
nasty crap spraying it but only good thing was the scraping as it men't one more panel finished almost done.
parex is the best all rounder in my opinion.

I've hand applied Parex GF and it's like using a nice drop of site mixed S&C, you'd love it.
 
Hi, this is my first time on a forum, can anyone tell me the best machine to buy for spraying k-rend. We are hand applying at the moment but getting really busy and
averaging 200 bags a week. So we are desperate for a sprayer.

Welcome to the forum,

Many machine dealers on here so you will have many different opinions. We deal M-tec machines and used PFT machines along with two types of diesel machines. The machine we would recommend would be the M-tec M300, if you speak to technical at K-rend they will also recommend this machine to you.

The M300 is a 3 Phase machine capable of spraying Krend E- Grade over 45m in distance and 25m in height.

Most Electric machines are pretty similar in the way they mix then pump the materials. You have main wearable parts which makes up the pump called a rotor and stator. This will probably last about 20-25 pallets then needs renewing. Mixing shafts may wear also. PFT are the biggest manufacturer of plastering machines and have a wide variety of machines to choose from.
Pumping 200 bags a week i would recommend a 3 phase mixing pump. You will likely need a generator to run this. A PFT G4 smart will do everything you need it to do and wont break the bank. Parts are available same day or can be sent overnight.
training will be offered with your purchase we we strongly recommend you do.
PFT have a network of dealers who are also plasterers. We have 1 in Scotland, Rotherham, Swansea and Essex

whats your problems are you using e-grade k-rend superior material to work with
are you using machine to apply ,remember this material can not be lathed like ordinary render
the knack is in the final lathing and scraping

I have sprayed k-rend and similar for years
the ptf g4 g5 are a great all round machine the secret to not abusing your machine and getting the right mix is
a small brass valve you put on your inlet for the water at the front of your machine or a second mixing pot to the bottom this increases spreading and handling
the youse of e-grade is better handling .
also I advise that you employ some European guy that can handle the machine and techneche as clogging and breakdowns will occur

I am using k-rend and i think it's not a good product, for me so far no problem with it. But a bit concerned now that I have read this thread, anyway time will tell. Thanks

You will be fine mate,its just not that user friendly but looks great when done properly.

There is a YouTube vid K Rend D4-2 rotar & stator. The machine is a PFT G4 clone.
