I might misread something along the lines. I thought heritage was involved in this. If not, you do whatever in reason.
You can't help bad weather unfortunately, it is what it is.
Good luck with it!
are you a plasterer or do you render?
I remember a few months back you advertised for someone to do some rendering for you as you can't do it?

Im a skimmer, probably your worst nightmare bobby. Only do little bits of rendering, nothing major. Leave it for the big boys.
Yes i did advertised as the property is not local to me, half a day there and back. I remember you wanted to jump on it if I'm correct, but you're in Devon which is even further than me.
Is there any problem?

It was not me m8 iv working my self 20 years 3 houses so I must b doing something rhight lol

If the saturation is so high that its hitting the inner skin side before gravity can take it down and away to a free draining system at the base then a waterproof scratch coat before lime coat and or tanking the inside is the option i would take before the lime finish they want. But if that`s not an option then a seal of the surface using paint, waterproof additive to the lime or if battens can get a good grip then breathable felt with welsh slate cladding might do the trick ? Either way if the busybodies are dictating what you can and cant do to the building then they should also be giving you the solution to the problem !

Simple solution - paint with Keim mineral paint. It will still be breathable and the paint will stop the lime getting saturated. Not rocket science is it.

naught
m8 your in Devon a dry climate compare to us .U have no idea the volume of rain we get a year . If u were U would b saying o dear that a fact for u
I wish
We have one of the highest rain falls in the country down here
Pass the job on to a decent renderer who knows the game

Get a Ian Jones in to do it.he lives in Wales somewhere
is he one of the lime obsessed people .If so thers no point I know the score whith lime .The only thing they want is the wall to breath the only thing it breathing is water because of this climate change .If they say it does not work and so on what going to happen the pen pushers are going to b out of work .lime render is ok in sheltered area but not in wet climate Iv b in the game 20 od years I know the score

if you just want to fool the pen pushers. render the building with sand lime and white cement, put the additives in the render. they will not be able to tell the difference.

I s&c my stone cottage and used a lot of waterproofer. Insulation boards and skimmed the inside. No problems for ten years. Nice and cosy, gets ventilated when possible. Dug up a few feet around the base of the house and set in a drainage system.
Sand & lime - no thanks
