I wouldn’t know about that.
But to have 3/4 vans and keep 6/8 lads working you’d be way over the VAT threshold and registered which I doubt they are and probably limited which they aren’t.
It’s basically 8 guys all driving around sharing the work out and coming together for the bigger projects.
Good idea to be honest, fair play to them

I joined rated people in 2009 when I was quiete, I found it very useful for the public but not us. I had about 8 good reviews and a website of work but none of the customers ever bothered to look just interested in cheapest quote and to be done tomorrow. My builder etc are useful if you have blokes to keep busy or a multi trader.
Which local was very good as it was a better class of person looking for a good job and willing to pay and wait.
Don’t think it exists now though.

You should see the big teams from Luton they do a townhouse in a day
Doing a lot of re-gen work around sw Scotland green scheme kind of stuff,I know there rates and us boys just simply can’t compete,work till silly o’clock obv to make a crust,all live in same house/flat etc it’s the only way it could work,
Don’t mind anybody making a honest crust tbh FairPlay to them,always will be people undercutting you in this game it’s just the way it is

Let’s say a 12 x 12 bedroom re-skim
Mr British plasterer working alone
2 decent days, ceiling a couple of walls, next day a couple of walls and tidy is going to be, without nailing it too much around £xxx ( you know, I once got in trouble for talking prices on here )
Now Mr polish with multiple lads working all pissing in the same pot
Probably only charge £70/£80 per day per lad so your at £160 labour. They will do it in a day, quite easily + materials.
You’ve got no chance.
That’s what mybuilder will give you.
Now add into the mix the young eager lads and old time handymen wanting to earn a crust. That’s what you’ll be competing with and paying for the privilege

No all I was going to say is that if you are anything but a UKIP voter since 2004 and voted to stay in EU. Then you cannot complain about immigrants reducing prices and undercutting you.
The only reasons for mass immigration is to drive down labour prices and keep wages low..................and to swell the numbers of the pro immigration parties such as Labour.Lib/Dems etc. There is no other reasons for mass immigration/open borders.

I’m late 20’s and honestly don’t mind immigration.
I don’t vote and never have.
I’m not complaining about immigrants under cutting me, they don’t. I don’t use my builder or carry out Plastering anymore.
The polish guy who “smash’s it” on my builder I take my hat off to him. Him and 7 others all charge cheap prices all make a good living and are constantly busy.
The point is while on the outside they have 4 vans 8 lads working for them they look like a big out fit that clean up and make mega $$$ in reality they probably take a lot of cash and drip invoice payments into multiple “lads accounts” and share the money between them.
Fair play to them.

Well you should. Not because it is a racist thing. Because if you have uncontrolled immigration you will never have decent services because the system keeps getting over loaded but also wave after wave will keep undercutting the previous wave to get work and wages will just keep getting lower and lower. Tis true. It doesnt matter who they are. It is the ever expanding over supply of labour. It will just keep expanding and expanding and expanding out of control.

Lurpak showed us a gang who “smash it” in Birmingham
I simply pointed out that just because they had vans and bodies it didn’t mean they were smashing it and therefor that’s what you’d be competing with on my builder.

No what you are competing with is too many people after the same money.
If something pays well then you will find everybody wants to do that trade.
If cleaning shithouse paid good money you will find everybody doing that as well.
When the price of plastering comes down (recession/bust) then you will find those same people will move to some other trade.
What you are seeing is simple economics...........not enough work/money for the available tradesmen.
A race to the bottom. Got nothing to do who they are.

So you have two choices..................Do something else or do things properly.
If you stop in trade then the same thing happens when a down turn in building comes which is very soon.
Take a look at others who specialise and get yourself a website and learn how to use the internet to get work other than sites like MyBuilder.
