Tbh it's more than 1m2 though.thats for the material.meshing first pass will slow you down big time

Yeah £2m2 for meshing both coats plus the extra time fckin about, but it is what it is I suppose It's still early day for me and I'm doing domestic not like I'm tendering for mono and a matter of a few tonne can swing things...

Only issue I have noticed having lost out on a few that we priced very keenly is other dckheads not speccing at least the minimum that is needed.. Like just putting the mono straight on old commons @ 10mm with lots of straight joints to go over not even meshing!!

I do sometimes think that winning every job by putting a half spec on and them having to snag the life out of it is more economical than pricing a job based on a solid spec done by the book and getting few here and there..

Don't about anyone else but I fckin despise rework! so I try not to leave any stone unturned

This is my point with Weber. The Caribean cat at Weber told me to fully mesh the rend aid then stress patches in the mono and any other weak area. Then the next day he said fully meshing the rend aid is pointless being so thin? Mesh in the mono is better done?

Well i can see that to a point although i am generous with rend aid and have enough on top of the mesh to get a scratch. I do not stipple as quite often the stipples come out on the surface of the mono.

As to having the mesh near the surface of the render I disagree. More like 1/3 in from the surface. I regard the 4mm mesh to small a hole 5mm being better like Prorends. The mesh being near the surface leaves very little thickness on the surface and being so small holes it could be a thin layer of render on a sheet of plastic especially if you are bit late being wet on wet.

With most renders I mesh the base coat and at least stress patch the render coat. On really bad brick work that takes loads of base coat then I do the opposite. On really bad walls or like the area of Crookes here in Sheffield with a well known geological fault i fully mesh both coats.

So what's your spec bud? Fully Mesh rendaid and fully mesh mono?

If the wall is decent I would mesh the rend aid if done thick like i do and stress patch the mono. If you want to sleep at night fully mesh both coats if time and money allows but consider the stress patches? That will be 3 layers of mesh?

Without knowing the scale or measure its a guess at this stage.
Looks a good size house though and I don't suspect the quote is bad at all. Is a good time to get render done at the mo. Prices are very competitive.

Doors tend to 2m high, its a good way of getting a scale without a scale if you know what I mean.

Jesus at those prices aswell!!! Very annoying a lot of corner cutters out there it p****s me off!! If you don't want to do it properly?? F off and let the other lads in instead!!?? Sad to see some "tradesmen" don't give a ****!! Sorry rant over!

shouldn't be able to see any mesh should be covered by the coat, but finish looks sound enough. but its easy to sit here and criticize

Yes ok the mesh should have been fully covered but to be fair the job looks ok to me the finish looks clean and sharp I've seen a lot worse :/

Not a marker pal but if you've seen the state some so called renderers leave jobs
and for £23 per m2 all I'm saying is it's not. that bad
its the easiest thing in the world to criticise

hiya mate we are in the middle of monocouching a house in birmingham that is over 250m2 we are charging 30m2 so your builder is not having you over
