Absolute shite finish

Hi guys I'm new on here just been reading your reviews on multi finish I have been saying they are testing Uni finish early and now I've read everyone else's messages I know I'm not going mad !!! Comments please :)

Alright bud welcome along, tbh I think everyone has commented to death about uni finish/ shitty, gritty, fatty, multi etc. Think there's 2or 3threads on it all goin at the same time? No one knows for sure what's goin on, just need to wait till it comes out, and everyone gets a shot of it, then we'll all have opinions on it? It may be a big thumbs up, or it mayl crash and burn:RpS_unsure:

welcome to the forum
cant coment on plaster as we have been rendering and
building last few months so not done any skim
for a while....

FFS, it would seem that we all had our own s**t together, regardless of mixing/ thickness / technique preferences with the old multi. Part of the job we were all were familiar with was Pva'ing/prepping a job ready for skimming. If it ain't broke, why fix it? Sick to death of inconsistent shite over the last two months. All jobs this week, I used board finish, and happy to say, all is well again. I hope that they release this uni-finish b*ll***s and make multi what it used to be. At least we will all know what we are dealing with again........

multi finish s**t

I take absolutely no notice of who advertises on here but I do vaguely remember Danny announcing that BG were now on board with the forum, has this all gone tits up without me even noticing?
Lets be honest what have BG got to gain from coming on here. They're already the market leaders and don't need to listen to anyone says how crap or overpriced their products are or do anything about it.

Come on Knauf prove to all of us how good (hopefully) your products are and then do something about getting them in the merchants to put some pressure on the BG beast. You know it makes sense.

Knauf do a board finish.
However the bags never mix up the same or finish the same, even if they are from the same batch.
Again however one man can bead tape and skim a 3 bed semi (new build) in 8 mixes of roughly a bag and a half a mix. It goes miles and miles.

I dont know if your talking aboout the new uni finnish? You definately still NEED pva, simple as that, I tried it on an unpainted reskim of a wall and a painted skim on a wall and it sets instantly and crazy cracks all over. Cant understand how BG say this works without PVA because it just doesnt. Once you get the hang of it and you do PVA the wall first,it trowels up quite nice but definately need to PVA walls first. Any one else tried this? What are your results?

I cant see how BG have put a product out on the market with out testing it! Uni finnish does not work, you have to PVA the walls first, tried it and it cracks and sets straight away. Its rubbish! What are they saying on the bag of MF, no pva needed!! They must have tried it first, muppets!

Guys, Knauf's Ready Mixed Plasters can be directly applied over existing painted walls and Artex without PVa or other bonding / priming agents. Can even be applied over Lime cements and plasters. Ask your local Area Sales Manager for more info.

My lad has just started working with us, he is 16 and the inconsistency of British Gypsum plaster is frustrating the learning process, it's ok for me I've been at it a long time but for new lads it is trying to learn it must be very frustrating, the multi we seem to get sets like **** and I love it, we second coat it when it's wet, trowel it when it's too wet but the second wet trowel and a flash over and it's average, this is good enough for the rates we are on!

Bet it's not meant to go on unpainted surfaces with out a suction control more for just over painted surfaces
